END OF TERM QUIZZES AND WORDSEARCHES FOR YEAR 9

This resource contains 3 quizzes and word searches on Year 8 topics. The students have to find the words by filling in the gaps using their historical knowledge, and then locate them on the grid. The resource contains 3 quizzes/word searches: The First World War The Second World War The Cold War There are also 3 differentiated searches for lower prior attaining students where the letter at the beginning of each word is highlighted in the grid so that this becomes more of a heads and tails activity. I have found using these useful revision/extension/remote learning resources. It is also useful for GCSE knowledge revision.

A LEVEL. THE 1968 ELECTION AND NIXON'S ADMINISTRATION

This resource is ideal for teaching an introduction to President Nixon for any A Level examination board. However it was originally created for AQA Unit 2Q TheAmerican Dream. It would probably take about 2 lessons to teach if all the activities are attempted, and contains a range of question answer/writing/research activities/election map analysis suitable for extending the students. It considers why Nixon won the 1968 election, and also contains a research task on Nixon’s administration.

It is delivered through clips of news reports; facts; consequences and questions in 4 specific areas: Protecting the elderly and vulnerable through lockdowns School closures Business closures Vaccines It considers the short; medium and long term consequences and asks students to vote at the end - HUMAN RIGHTS OR CIVIL LIBERTIES? Good for all ages, but very suitable for extending the thinking of children in key stage 3 and older key stage 2.
