A LEVEL - THE IMPACT OF QUEEN ELIZABETH I'S EARLY LIFE ON THE TYPE OF QUEEN SHE BECAME
This lesson is an introduction to Queen Elizabeth I made for A level history. It can be used for any board and investigates the experiences in her early life and her preparation for becoming queen. It also focuses on her attitude to religion. This includes various tasks, but the key focus is on helping students to evaluate interpretations and presenting relevant evidence as required by all examination boards, .

VE Day on May 8th. It is suitable for primary and secondary school and contains:
An assembly/lesson - the first part of the ppt is an assembly containing images/clips/explanations about the significance of VE day and the aftermath of the war (approx 20 mins). If it is used as a lesson there are tasks incorporated in the 2nd part of the presentation to support building on writing evaluative answers (in this case weighing up the consequences of the aftermath of the Second World War). The lesson will take approximately an hour to teach, but students may need time to complete the work for homework.
A VE Day Quiz and discussion opportunity - useful for a tutorial or a history lesson. The quiz is on a ppt - so can be delivered to the whole class at the samr time - it is followed up with a discussion about VE Day.
VE Day timeline - this timeline contains 20 key events of 1945 leading to victory in Europe. Each event is on a separate sheet and contains an explanation and a colourful image - will need space for 20 sheets of A4 to go around the classroom.
VE Day wordsearch/quiz - can be used as a starter or an extension activity.
An alternative lesson - was Dresden justified or was it a war crime? Using sources and extended writing.
VE DAY TIMELINE
A colourful timeline containing 17 key events leading up to Victory in Europe in 1945. This can be laminated and displayed in the classroom to aid learning aimed at understanding the events leading up to the defeat of fascism.
Each event contains a date; an event; a brief explanation of the event and a representative picture. Suitable for all age groups.
VE DAY QUIZ AND CLASS DISCUSSION
This is a quiz/discussion to use tohelp student’s knowledge and understanding of VE Day on the 8th of May. It would take about half an hour to complete, and is suitable as a tutorial activity and to stimulate evaluative thinking.
VE DAY WORDSEARCH AND QUIZ FOR TUTORIAL OR HISTORY
This wordsearch/quiz has been created for a VE day activity for the 8th May. It can be used as an activity in either tutorial or history lessons. It can be used either on its own or as a follow up to a lesson.
Suitable for most ages.
HUMANITIES ICE-BREAKING TRANSITION LESSON
This resource has been created for either key stage 2 students transitioning to secondary school, or key stage 1 students moving into middle school.
It has a humanities theme and contains tasks; ice-breakers and games to help the students relax; build confidence and make relationships while they learn.
It begins with an ice-breaker.
The students then learn about chronology - a paper task in pairs, and then a challenge where they have to move around the room talking to each other.
It end with a geography and RE game where again all of the new students can learn about each other.
You will need about an hour to do all of the activities, however some can be cut out if time does not permit.

HISTORY CHALLENGE WALL - GOOD TRANSITION ACTIVITIES
This display/activity can be put on a wall and when pupils have completed their work they can try the challenges. Good for transition time, Useful for corridor display too - my students try to work out the answers while they are waiting to come into the lesson There are 4 challenges:

The display is colourful and can be changed keeping the same lettering. The challenges span a range of historical events/people/periods etc and can be recreated many times.
A LEVEL HISTORY - THE BATTLE OF BOSWORTH AND HENRY TUDOR'S CONSOLIDATION OF POWER
These lessons take approximately 5 hours to teach and are the introductory lessons to any A Level Tudors course, however were initially created for AQA Unit 1C. The resource is complete and contains all of the necessary resources for students to gain a good overview and detailed historiographical understanding into why Henry Tudor was able to gain power. They contain numerous activities all incorporated in the power point or as separate resources.
The whole of Henry VII section is also available as a bundle either with or without revision resources. Other bundles this resource is incorporated into are Henry VII and VIII, or Henry VII; Henry VIII and the Mid Tudors.

MASTERING CAUSATION QUESTIONS
This lesson addresses how to answer causation questions through modelling answers and differentiated activities. It is stepped in difficulty starting with very simple ways of identifying cause and consequence; moving onto evaluating causes and culminating in mastering GCSE questions on causation.
There are a range of activities varying in difficulty. It was made for GCSE history however is also suitable for key stage 3.
This will probably take more than one lesson to teach if students complete all of the activities.

These resources are useful for classroom or corridor display in any classroom in either primary or secondary schools. They are bright; colourful and aid learning/building wider knowledge.
Command terms display - 20 command terms, each with definitions of each term and an image to make them eye catching. Each can be laminated on either A4 or A3 and pupils can use them to understand what they are being asked to do.
Person of the week display - a picture and a description of a key person for each week of the academic year. Can be changed each week to create an changing display.

COMMAND TERMS DISPLAY
This is a bright and colourful display of 20 command terms with definitions and images for either a primary or secondary classroom. Each term can be blown up to A3 laminated and placed around the classroom. The idea is that students start to familiarise themselves with the terms at a young age so that they are able to correctly follow the commands when approaching a task.
THIS DAY IN HISTORY DISPLAY
This display was created to cover a key event for every day in history of the academic year. It contains pictures of a key event in history with information. The picture can be changed daily and lends itself to a working display.
Useful for the primary or secondary classroom.
