Have produced these for use within our Faculty. Best printed 4 per page of A4.\nUseful for student self assessment and also provide quick feedback for the teacher.\nGreat for evidence for work scrutinies / lesson observations.\nSome of these are science specific but most are easily adaptable for any subject.\nI have also produced an exit pass based on SOLO taxonomy in addition to a behaviour version.\nMore to follow if these are to anyone's taste - feedback is welcome - bit like the exit passes really!!
These are best printed 2 per side and double sided - to give A5 size sheets.
These are for giving students when they have online (self marked) pieces of homework. Often there is no evidence of these other than a simple percentage. These sheets provide students with an opportunity to evaluate their progress and also for parents to write a comment.
I would perhaps use these 2 or 3 times a half term (rather than every piece of homework).
These can be adapted for other online homeworks or KS4.
As usual any feedback is welcome.
Contains all the key words and definitions for the KS3 Year 8 science course.
Best used in conjunction with Quick quiz sheets and definition sheets.
Glossary also contains suggested SOLO linked revision strategies.
Quick quiz sheet also incudes marking system so students can analyse their results to a greater depth.
Students have found this resource and the others suggested invaluable in supporting their long term retention of key information.
Useful posters and student sheets to provide support when students are assessing each others work and providing feedback.
Can be used in conjunctions with PAWs.

Review - Analysis - Progress
These are used as a structured revision homework for students.
They are written for the current AQA scheme and currently only include Core and Additional topics.
Please let me know how useful you find these.
These are useful literacy resources for marking extended pieces of writing in science. The first document is best printed as 2 per A4 sheet and can be attached to students work to aid feedback.
The second document is best printed on A3 as posters for display to provide information for students when undertaking extended pieces of writing. It can also be printed much smaller and provided as an insert for the students' books or files.
Please let me know how useful you find these resources.
Peer Assessed Work sheets.
Best when printed 4 to an A4 page.
These are useful when asking students to peer assess each others work - be it verbal, visual, written or practical.
Also allows for students to respond to their feedback.
Please let me know how useful these are with your groups. For reference M.R.I. stands for My Response Is - this is where the student replies to their comments
Before everything else! Does exactly what it says on the tin!
For use with students before they start a topic or lesson. As with exit passes they are best printed 4 per A4 page.
Have found the students can make use of these very quickly.
Please let me have any feedback with respect to how you useful or otherwise you have found these.
Contains all the key words and definitions for the whole AQA AS Biology course.
Best used in conjunction with AQA AS Biology - complete glossary.
Also supported by Quick quiz sheets and definition sheets.
All words are numbered on both the Quiz quiz trade cards and the glossaries themselves.
Glossary also contains suggested SOLO linked revision strategies.
Quick quiz sheet also incudes marking system so students can analyse their results to a greater depth.

Great use as a starter activity - simply provide each student with a card on entry to the class and then get them to pair up, quiz each other, swap cards and then move to another partner.
Can also be used mid way through a lesson as a break activity.
Alternatively students can use the cards to quiz each other in groups of four or place cards down on the table and only turn over if they can either recall the definition or the word corresponding to the information on the reverse.
This is primarily aimed at secondary schools but may also be of use in any sector. It is a presentation about how to design a basic layout for a linear tested curriculum based on current understanding and theory around memory and retention.
Considers B.I.T.S approach; namely Bulking (my own phrase), Interleaving, Testing and Spacing.
This would be beneficial for anyone who is writing or designing a scheme - be it a full year or even a termly scheme.
Results with our KS3 science have improved significantly since introducing this interleaved approach.
Contains all the key words and definitions for the KS3 Year 7 science course.
Best used in conjunction with Quick quiz sheets and definition sheets.
Glossary also contains suggested SOLO linked revision strategies.
Quick quiz sheet also incudes marking system so students can analyse their results to a greater depth.

I have this resource printed and displayed in my classroom.
Students are allocated teams as part of a seating plan - they are each given a number 1-4. Each number is then allocated a role.
Teams move tables each lesson (indicated by a box with their team name on it).
Teams are re-organised every half term.
Roles and numbers are also changed half termly - as many students may retain the same number but in a different team!
Hope that all makes sense. I will probably put together a help sheet to go with this resource at some point.
Please let me know how useful you find these.
These are a set of posters I designed for displaying around our faculty. The idea is to catch the students' attention. Work best if regularly swapped around.

These exit passes are linked to the 4 pillars of Independence, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication. They can be used by students to assess their levels against the 4 pillars criteria (see other resources). We use them in the Learn to Learn scheme that we teach in Y7. I also intend to use them in my science lessons. Please let me know if you find these of any use.
Book analysis and assessment sheets. These are used for 'deep marking' of exercise books / files once every half term or so.
They work best when printed 4 per A4 page.
The red version is to highlight to the student that there are more issues than praise.
I am currently improving these so will upload the improved versions once completed.
Please let me know how useful you find these.

I have used these as homeworks (but could be used as cover work or lesson activities) to encourage students to be more creative. Have had some fantastic pieces of learning from Y7 through to Y12 students.
As per usual feedback is welcome.
These are the complete set of GSCE glossaries including Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These are translated into Arabic. They match the English versions and have the same numbers. As I don’t speak this language there may be mistakes in the translation. However, I hope that you still find these useful for your EAL students.
PowerPoint to support presentation on Challenge in the secondary school classroom. Includes references to SOLO taxonomy and Socratic questioning.
Great resource to support ITTs, NQTs and RQTs who are looking for suggestions on how to improve the level of challenge within their classroom.
