Children often find it hard to remember the difference between area and perimeter, which affects their ability to do calculations correctly. So, the more memory aids we can use to help them, the more likely it is that they will remember the difference. With this activity, children color in the word “AREA” which covers the area of the rectangle, and they write the word “PERIMETER” around the perimeter of the rectangle.
