A William Shakespeare Escape Room activity. Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activity is perfect for group work, a Shakespeare project, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards that cover key events of the 1600s before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. This is a discussion based writing unit discussing who was the most influential figure from Ancient Greece. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about Aristotle, Alexander the Great and Socrates, and writing these on to an included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individuals. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills or in Social Studies. The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. This is a play script for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which has been rewritten to be suitable for ages 9 to 14. A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the story of four Athenian lovers who have a complicated yet dramatic love life. Lysander and Hermia loved each other and wished to be together. Helena loved Demetrius, but Demetrius loved Hermia, and Hermia’s father wanted him to marry his daughter. Hermia and Lysander decided to run off together into the woods. But the woods were haunted by the Fairy King and Queen - Oberon and Titania, and the King’s mischievous henchman, Puck. This is a biography writing unit about the famous World War 2 diarist and victim of the Holocaust, Anne Frank. The remote learning unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6 learning about World War II or for Women’s History Month. The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs.
