Ethics of artificial intelligence.

This lessons introduces students to the ethical debate that AI throws up focusing on how AI has changed jobs in this country and how driverless cars are programmed and where computers get their ethics from.

Third lesson in SOW looking at the main beliefs of Hinduism. This lesson looks a the festivals of Diwali and Holi. Students look at the stories behind each festival and how Hindus celebrate them today.

What is philosophy?
First in scheme of work aimed at KS3 focusing on what philosophy is.
Students will study study famous philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle and consider how their thoughts and teachings are relevant to the modern world.

The Gurdwara - Sikhism.
Thrid lesson in scheme of work exploring Sikhism and it’s fundamental beliefs. The series goes on to look at the main beliefs how these beliefs impact the lives of Sikhs.
This lesson looks at tthe place of worship for Sikhs and includes a virtual tour (via video) of Guru Nanak Gurdwara.

Introduction to Islam
Introduction lesson to scheme of work exploring Islam and it’s fundamental beliefs. The series goes on to look at the main beliefs and how Islam has become linked with terrorism.

Animal rights
Fifth lesson in scheme of work focusing on moral/ethcial dilemmas that are faced by people around the world every day. This scheme of work looks at reasons for and against these dilemmas and what religions may say about this.
This lesson introduces students to the concept of a animal rights and how humans do/should interact with animals in the world. Students understand the role of religions in standing up for the rights of animals.
This is a complete lesson that has been designed with non subject specialists in mind so that it is fairly easy to pick up and teach. Lesson includes differentiated tasks, work sheets, on screen task management board and relevant information.
Gandhi and Ahimsa.
Sixth lesson in SOW looking at main beliefs of Hinduism. This lesson looks at one of the worlds most well known Hindus, Gandhi and his belief and practice of Ahimsa. Students are familiarized with the biography of Gandhi, his salt march and some of his quotes.

What is artificial intelligence?
First lesson of four focusing on introducing pupils to artificial intelligence and the ethics around it.
This lesson focuses on examples of AI that students may not understand, key words to be used throughout the unit of work and gives the students a chance to debate how essential AI is to everyday life.
