This PowerPoint has a series of AQA A-level English Language Paper 2 Section A questions. This is with the intention that the students create mini plans displaying the content they would write about. On each slide, the indicative content from the mark schemes has been provided to discuss with the students.

The following slides are based on AQA English Language Paper 2 Question 5. A series of questions have been created for students to complete.

This resource was made with the introduction of a lockdown and primarily focusses on targetting students with English as an Additional Language or low ability in Key Stage Three. The pack studies word classes and different types of words in the English language that could be useful to speakers with a differing native tongue.

Designed for a KS3 student as homework to strengthen their English skills through a context they enjoyed!

Specifically targeted questions based on the five senses. This is to elevates a student’s descriptive writing skills.

This activity sheet is specifically examining Act 2, Scene 2 (the balcony scene) from Romeo and Juliet in further detail. It aims to explore the social and historical contexts surrounding the play, attitudes and expectations. Students must then use all this knowledge to answer the key question at the bottom of the sheet.

Here are two hand outs that I give my students to revise Macbeth. They are plain in nature so that students can annotate around them and explore different ideas attached to the themes and quotations. Ideal for Key Stage Four students and those that are self-efficient.

The following is a days worth of lessons, or can be spread across the week. It shares the routes of protest poetry, looking at different forms and aspects. The week then leads onto the students creating their own poetry and displaying this.

The following resource allows students to explore in further detail the characters Macbeth, the Witches, Lady Macbeth and King Duncan. This would be an excellent resource to use before King Duncan is slain or straight afterwards. Can be used for high ability Key Stage Three and immediately for all ability types in Key Stage Four.

A Kung Fu Panda inspired semi-colon activity sheet. This is made to be used in a creative way where students can perform where the semi-colon should be placed within a sentence.

This resource is targetted to enable students to directly focus on a writers purpose for the text. There are three examples: the first being a blank copy to use for any text, the second is an example made for A Christmas Carol and the last is a match up for students based on A Christmas Carol.

Simple checklist made for LA/SEND students who need to actively engage in their progress made by a visual means.

Summary Sheet made for KS3 students to write a short, concise summary of the acts.

This is a short lesson, intended for discussion, to elevate students’ knowledge of Gerald’s character.

This looks specifically at students embedding their knowledge about the writer’s purpose and any contextual information they know of. The examples are based on A Christmas Carol, however, these can be edited for any text being studied.

This resource can be used amongst all age ranges and abilities. However, I tend to share this with Key Stage Four classes as a revision resource throughout their two years of studying for exams. The resource shares different literary techniques, the definition of the term and a blank space for students to create their own example.

This cards are aimed to be printed off and laminated for students to use who struggle explaining/showing their emotions to other students and members of teaching staff. I highly recommend these to students who may have a Special Educational Need that could benefit from these.
