This resource is a great and fun way to discuss New Year traditions around the world. The best way to use it is to show it on a smartboard in “present mode”. The first thing that shows is an image. Have your students try to guess what the tradition is and which country is partaking in the tradition. Just based on an image, your students will have fun trying to guess and come up with traditions. Then when you click on the screen, the country will fade in and then the description of the actual tradition. Locations include; Ireland, Denmark, Mexico, Philippines, Scotland, Ecuador, Germany, Chile, America and South America. You could also print this out and have the students read through as an informative piece. Included is also just image pages. Great to hand out to your students to try to come up with ideas in groups. This resource comes in a printable PDF as well as an editable Google Slide. You can print it out and provide the organizers to your students, or allow them to make a copy and fill it in digitally. Since it is editable, you can adjust the parameters for how much or how little you want the students to write, or change any aspect of the project.
