This is a journey planner organisational chart which can be used for SEN students who require Travel Training sessions. Entry Level 1 to Level 2 students. It includes what the students need to consider in regards to planning travel on buses, taxis and the Metro (or Tubes/Trams). I use this in my Travel Training sessions, so students can independently plan a journey on public transport, learning valuable transferable skills.

This is an 11 page PowerPoint presentation, which can also be printed out as an information booklet. The PowerPoint gives an overview of the EDSQ qualification course. It gives a brief explanation of what the students will be learning in each unit and what assessments are needed. This is a perfect resource to use with SEN students (Entry 3 to Level 1) who need to complete an EDSQ qualification.

This resource can be used with students that require support around building social skills. This is an activity where students can list 6 conversations starters on the sheet, before writing them onto a cube net and creating a conversation starter dice. You could use it as a social skills activity during Travel Training sessions, where students are encourage to practice good social skills in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

An Entry Level 3, 24 page task booklet to teach the EDSQ (Essential Digital Skills Qualification) Unit 1 - Using Devices - Apply System Settings, Including Accessibility. The task booklet recaps prior learning, includes sections where students can demonstrate the usage of accessibility settings, states keywords, checks learning for self-assessment and includes 2 extension tasks. Perfect for Entry Level 3 and Level 1 students, including SEN students. There is also an 12 slide PowerPoint presentation to go with it, with recap of previous lesson, learning outcomes, gauging prior knowledge, keywords, 2 extension tasks and a recap of learning.

A Scheme of Work Year Plan (year overview) for the ICT/Computing Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) for Entry Level 3 & Level 1. The year plan uses the Pearson curriculum specification (although can easily be adapted to suit other awarding bodies such as NOCN or OCN). Starting the academic year 2024-2025. Useful as a guide when creating your schemes of work or can be put at the front of students’ folders to chart progress. Ideal for SEN students, the course curriculum is spaced out through the year to allow plenty of time for completion and repeat assessments if needed. It covers all five units: Using Devices and Handling Information Creating and Editing Communicating Transacting Being Safe and Responsible Online.

I use this resource for students studying Game or Media Studies. It can be used as an extension task or for substitute teaching. Students are given a commonly thought statement about video games (violent, only for teenagers and geared towards males) and they are challenged to prove if the statement is true or false by providing any evidence to the contrary. It could also be used as the basis for a debate/discussion for Functional Skills English/Literacy.

This is a resource that I use with SEN students that require Travel Training sessions. I usually use this after the Initial Assessment, so the students can share any concerns they have around travelling on public transport. They also have to think of the benefits to using public transport (independence etc.) and what travel strategies they can use to help them (fidget toys, music on headphones etc.)

This is a resource I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a fun activity to do with students as a break from regular Travel Training sessions. Students can complete a photography scavenger hunt, where they have to practice their road safety skills whilst walking around their local area, taking photographs of a variety of things, such as a round-a-bout or zebra crossing. Feel free to delete any options that are not relevant to your local area, or add others in.

This is a resource that I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a road safety poster task, which can be used as a classroom based activity for when the weather is bad or the students don’t want to go out. It can be used in conjunction with the Travel Training SEN Road Safety Quiz.

5 pages of evidence assessment sheets for the Entry Level 3 EDSQ course, perfect for organising and building portfolio’s of work. ICT tutors can use the evidence assessment sheets to state what evidence is provided in the students portfolios, when students have demonstrated practical IT skills or completed paperwork for their EDSQ course. It covers all of the EDSQ, Pearson course criteria, but can be easily adapted to suit other course EDSQ curriculums, such as OCN or NOCN.

This resource can be used for students studying Film or Media Studies. This 5 page resource explains the purpose of film trailers, their conventions and structure. And there are 2 pages of targeted questions for students to answer, after they have watched a film/movie trailer.

This is a resource I use for students that require Travel Training sessions. Students use this resource to record photographic evidence when working towards their Travel Training related EHCP goal.

This resource can be used for students that require Rarpa (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement); it is linked to the PfA (Preparing for Adulthood) goal/target: Good Health Skills If students have set up their own personal good health skills goal, students can then provide photographic evidence for this via the sheet. There is also an accompanying witness statement sheet, where tutors or LSA’s can provide written evidence towards the goal.

This is a display poster which can be shown/displayed to students that require Travel Training sessions. The poster explains the necessity of good road safety skills when crossing the road at a chicane/give way and that cars may not be stopping to let you cross.
