LGBTQ+ History Month - Homosexuality in the 16th and 17th Centuries Year 8 Study

(0)
I have created a lesson for LGBTQ+ history month focusing on being gay in 16th and 17th Century Europe. The intention is to integrate the themed history month into the curriculum rather than have a tokenistic ‘LGBTQ+ history month’ lesson that has no relevance to the current scheme of learning. This has been designed for Year 8 to appear between their topic on Elizabeth I and the English Civil War, but it could be adapted to suit your context.

This has been designed for Year 9 to appear during their topic on the Holocaust, but could be adapted to suit your context.

GCSE Medicine in Britain in a nutshell

This two-page document provides a neat overview of the key individuals, events and dates of the Edexcel GCSE Medicine in Britain, c1250–present and The British sector of the Western Front, 1914–18: injuries, treatment and the trenches unit. I give this to students who are feeling overwhelmed with the amount of content in the specification, as it breaks the entire unit down into a manageable amount to begin revision. As a class we also use this document to highlight key individuals/events/time periods that have not appeared in recent exams to help focus students’ revision.

Cold War catch up resources Given the sheer amount of content we need to cover, I have created these catch-up sheets which can be place in students books if they miss core content lessons due to absence. These can be easily printed off and placed in a folder, so that when a student is absent you can select the correct lesson and stick it into their book for them to catch up in their own time. I have aimed to put the essential knowledge in however they are easy to edit if you want to add more detail/customise them to how you teach.
