Looks at how identity is shown in a teenage magazine article vs political speech. Includes template for researching theory. Could easily be adapted for AQA meanings and representations. Includes potential sentence openers/ structures.

Series of lessons looking at Not My Business with LA KS3.

PP looking at each poem separately and a large grid/ essay plan comparing the two. There are two differentiated versions. This was done with Y7 though it was challenging for them. I have looked at the same poems with anything up to Y11.

AQA English Language Paper 1A questions focusing on Nicholas Nickleby extract. Used as part of a unit named “An Introduction to 19C literature” looking at both lang and lit skills. Introduction to the functions of language according to Halliday and Dore. Students complete grid and transcript annotation selecting functions before producing their own transcript. Answers included.

KS4 An Inspector Calls resources, also used with KS3. Extensive collection of activities.

Life of Pi extract, descriptive writing stimulus and differentiated resources as well as PEE grid. Used with Y9-11. Good for IGCSE coursework and new AQA spec.

Differentiated card sort looking at Priestly's message. Students can choose the basic match activity or one with a gap fill. Students must match cards with character. Grid to be printed on A3.

The activities on the PP were created by me for use with a LA 10 class who have just started looking at Paper 2. Initially students attempted the exam paper and then we had a walk through focusing on inferring information (2) using terminology (3) and the success criteria for Q4. I have made structure strips to assist in answering the Section B question. The original paper is not my own.

7702 Revision Master class. Pidgin and Creole, Black English. AQA English Language Paper 2. A range of activities to be used over a 1-2 hour masterclass. Also contains a sheet on Tok Pisin for students to look at a specific language in more detail.

Question to be completed in exam conditions followed by walkthrough, however, this could always be edited to give students a lesson first followed by the exam.
