Best taught after completing my lesson SC22a on “Alkenes and Homologous Series”, which provides an intro to the structures of carboxylic acids and alcohols. **For one of the final summary tasks, you will need to get hold of Pearson Edexcel worksheet SC24c.2 “Monomers and Polymers”. Failing this, you could use slides 10 & 11 to prepare your own card sort which would substitute for the worksheet. Students’ progress can also be assessed simply using the yellow and pink box tasks on slide 9. **
