Everything you need to deliver seven plant practical activities. Easily adaptable and suitable for Year 7, 8 and 9. Some would also be suitable in year 10. The slides for each activity include the apparatus needed, method, results and conclusion. They can also be performed as demonstrations and most of them can be used in distance learning. What happens to plants in the absence of light? – This practical can be done in the lab or sent to do it at home in a distance learning approach as little material is needed. It can also be shown as a demonstration. Leaves under the microscope Roots for food: web exploring activity that can be easily performed in distance learning. Seeds feeling gravity: lab activity although it is simple enough to be performed in distance learning. Transport of water in celery: 2 lab activities included. It could be performed at home with food colouring. Investigating different colours of light in photosynthesis – theoretically. Can be done in distance learning. All the information given for student to work out on their own the apparatus, risks, results and conclusion. Check the slides’ notes for some extra info about the activity. Some coincide with Cambridge Science textbook/scheme of work, but can be used alongside any other SOW. All pictures have been sourced from the creative commons website. Everything you need to deliver a unit about the cardiovascular system in KS3. Easily adaptable and suitable for KS4. Each unit part includes a slide with the main learning objectives. The topic is divided in 6 parts: The human circulatory system: includes a starter slide + slide for a full lesson + plenary slide. The heart: structure and function. It includes a starter slide + slide for a full lesson + plenary slide and a related video. Blood components: lesson slides + exit ticket plenary. Blood vessels: lesson slides + plenary activities. End of unit questions with 4 activities. Revision: 35 minutes of revision activities + slides to check the proper answers. It can be used as a revision or assessment. Coincides with Cambridge Checkpoint textbook/scheme of work, but can be used alongside others.
