12 different grammar manipulation tasks for pupils studying GCSE & IGCSE to hone their knowledge of Spanish grammar with answers. In each task, the pupils must manipulate 10 verbs or adjectives so as they fit within the grammatical context of the text. The resources cover the present, past, imperfect, future and conditional tenses.
These are all examples of Question 8 on the IGCSE Edexcel Specification, but will be useful for all pupils to revise grammar.

Christmas Translation Worksheet for GCSE. A festive Christmas-themed lesson which links to examination skills and practice.
A standalone translation worksheet for pupils to develop their understanding of vocabulary and grammar linked to Christmas and festivals. The worksheet is scaffolded and provides pupils with key vocabulary for talking and writing about how they celebrate Christmas as well as honing translation skills into French and English.
There are three pages of exercises: vocabulary match up, translation into English, gap-fill, finding errors in translation, mosaic translation and translation into French using all the previous activities for support.

Three resources to introduce or revise the topic of daily routine.
Resource 1: introduce key verbs, recaps adverbs of time and has a succinct speaking/writing which will allow pupils to talk about their daily routine.
Resource 2: recaps key verbs in the present tense and then there is also a reading comprehension with verbs in the past tense and revision of reflexive pronouns. The plenary is a writing task with key phrases to include and vocabulary to recycle in their own work.
Resource 3: a GCSE style reading task and plenary translation.

A translation worksheet on the topic of weather expressions and hobbies (with the connectives ‘si’ and ‘cuando’). Six different translation exercises which recycle the same key language and introduce new linguistic items in a scaffolded way. The exercises are ramped in terms of difficulty and final activity is a plenary translation task into Spanish.

A 4 page worksheet reviewing the conjugation rules for the present tense (regular verbs and avoir, faire, aller, être), the immediate future and the past tense (regular verbs, some irregulars and ‘aller’), This will support pupils to review key grammar rules and to practise applying them.

A reading comprehension and powerpoint of activities to use to when planning a lesson on Pocket Money for KS3 or the beginning of GCSE. The PowerPoint contains a “unjumble” these sentences activity, a speaking overview on pocket money and some translation practice.
The reading is good practice of vocabulary with some complex structures built in. There are then two comprehension activities to do and then pupils can use these as models for their own answers.
Suggested answers included.
A longer writing task on the topic of school aimed at KS3 / GCSE - it requires knowledge of the present, preterite and immediate future tenses as a minimum. There is a GCSE style question, with a model answer and structures to find within the text. There is also a translation in English which pupils can then retranslate into Spanish for practice before writing their own. Or they could do the translation first and then check against the model answer.

This is an exam style text on immigration in Spain to translate into English followed by translation into Spanish, recycling the same vocabulary. Suggested answers are also included and the text provides key cultural references that can be used in the Speaking exam.
