This IB DP Physics sub-topic material covers all key knowledge needed for a given sub-topic. These materials are aligned to the 2023 syllabus onwards. They are developed by an IB DP Physics teacher who also knew the previous 2016 syllabus as well. While perhaps not the flashiest format, they are consistent and use Microsoft software and PDFs which is readily accessible to almost anyone. The Problem with Money - MYP unit plan (highly detailed)

This is an IB MYP - The Problem with Money - which is ideal for students relating mathematics and various aspects of money. This unit engages students with fractions, decimals, percentages, flowcharts, univariate and bivariate data, graphs and pie charts and a great deal more in a broad conceptual understanding. It contains many, many resource links suggested for this unit and makes clear a set of points that students should know, understand and be able to do by the end of the unit. It also has some clear and interactive formative assessments and summative assessments. This unit is heavily detailed and ideal for something that is truly prepared to use in the classroom. It is an overview for a unit that should run for approximately 6 weeks (assuming 3 lessons a week). If instead you are looking for an MYP unit planner also for mathematics, but based on measurement and related concepts, then consider the mathematical vision unit plan or for geometry and artworks, try the Art of Mathematics unit plan. For science and young students in MYP and which would be an ideal first unit, then consider: Nature of Science - introductory unit plan. For around the same age group, but in science - for MYP 2 / 3 an alternative IB MPY unit planner would be: the Food and Energy unit planner or the Growth unit planner. If rather for younger students you want to integrate both mathematics and STEM, then you might consider: MYP Artifical limb unit. For older MYP students, then I would suggest The NGSS related - Zero impact (sustainable housing) or for an Interdisciplinary unit - the Electricity / lightning MYP STEM IDU. It is an project template with questions to check comprehension and inspire scientific thinking. It gives a rich and supportive framework that can be tweaked as needed for students to support differentiation. Students should produce a mathematical connection, an engineering / technology connection, 2 interesting facts / stats. This IB DP Physics sub-topic material covers all key knowledge needed for a given sub-topic. These materials are aligned to the 2023 syllabus onwards. While perhaps not the flashiest format, they are consistent and use Microsoft software and PDFs which is readily accessible to almost anyone. They contain Teacher made graphics which show the exact concept to be taught or question to be asked and are all original to The Teaching Astrophysicist. This is a unit plan for the IB MYP based on sustainable housing that also relates the NGSS and how that can be taught / covered at the same time as teaching this unit. Students will use research to help them formulate design ideas, which will culminate in a design for a sustainable home (created as a 3D model using software of their choice). A successful final product requires a 3D walkthrough for the client to visualise and understand how the final design works. What features and deisgn considerations make this a sustainable home? Consider broadly all possible aspects of this endeavour, the sourcing of environmentally materials from sustainable sources, consider the market for this house and why people would buy it rather than a traditionally built home? Why are these commercially viable? What other considerations must we make? (Criteria A, B, C & D) This unit also helps introduce the GRASPS technique to conduct assessments and students to grapple with almost any assessment that comes to them.
