Hard to Swallow Pub Quiz Revision task

This quiz is designed for a double lesson or 100 minute lesson, covering all bases for the written GCSE WJEC Eduqas paper. On the tables of the groups I would place crisps and apple juice to give more of a ‘Pub Quiz’ feel, rather than just a test. My students loved this idea and preferred it a lot more that just a typical quiz.

Distance learning resource for drama students exploring accents for Blood brothers. There are Youtube links and recorded audio for 2 accents (Northern and Scouse) using a monologue from the play. This resources is a booklet with several different tasks in that is left open to the topic that you are studying. This can be used in Drama/ English (if studying plays or literature). If students are currently off school and are isolating, this can be set over 2 lessons where they complete every single task to do with a given topic (chosen by the teacher). They can complete this electronically or by printing and completing by hand. It is also my ‘go - to’ for cover work if I’ve not got anything up my sleeve. I have lots of socially distanced workshops and lessons if you would care to browse.

This resource has general tasks set that are easily adapted to any topic in drama. There are a series of different tasks that students can work through independently. The idea is that the student has a limitless budget and is in charge of a theatre company. They have to oversee the technical choices as well as considering their school topic/ play they are currently studying. There is a total of 8 different tasks in this booklet and will easily cover a 2 week isolation period. This can be done handwritten or electronically. Suitable for years 7-9. (Lower Year 10 possibly)

KS3 Theatre Review lesson Home Learning/ Isolation work/ Remote Learning

This resource is a lesson focused on writing an introduction to a theatre review. Students have to find out information of a particular production (example is Peter Pan in lesson) based on questions. They then have to complete other tasks, resulting in them writing their own introduction. Great for developing literacy skills in lockdown. It also includes voice instructions to aid access for those who struggle with reading. Easily adaptable for Year 8 or 9 I have lots of home learning resources on my page.

Drama Paragraph Structure Hard to Swallow Mark Wheeller

This lesson aims to address the problem of students not linking an explicit contextual factor into paragraph writing. I follow the WJEC Eduqas exam board for drama but this could also be used in English too. This lesson was produced with the purpose of adopting the principles of WALKTHRUs (Tom Sherrigton and Oliver Caviglioli) for good teaching. This structure is aimed at KS4 students. It contains lots of resources and principles that I use as well as a Socrative quiz (you can delete as appropriate).
