New Christmas Alphabet Resources **just added!**
Clear, colourful and engaging educational resources. Breaking learning down to the nub, making concepts as easy as abc...
We'd love to know what you think of what you download, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any suggestions or requests...
What’s included?
This download includes two pages (x2 A4 sheets, portrait orientation) featuring one ‘household words’ (nouns) word search (page 1). The answers (on page 2) clearly show where all words are hidden, displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference.
Who’s it for?
This word search has been designed for pupils the early years, in years one and two, as well as students needing additional learning support.
This simple, clear resource has been carefully designed to encourage young learners with reading ‘high frequency’ key words. Knowing these common ‘household words’ - both reading them on-sight and learning the correct spellings will benefit both reading and writing. This word search makes the spellings clear, there are x24 words to find - a lot !
Resource layout
The word search letters are arranged in a x10 by x10 square grid and featuring easy to read size 25 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font.
The household words have been organised into four groups of six, clearly showing all hidden question words below the word search. As said, there are x24 words to find in total.
These words are hidden horizontally (forwards and backwards), vertically (up as well as down) and diagonally (forwards and backwards). Words to find are; ball, bath, clothes, boat, river, water, car, chair, table, grass, plant, tree, box, hat, home, key, money, bed, book, door, school, shoes and window.
Recommendations
I recommend that learners use a ‘highlighter’ style pen when finding the hidden words as highlighters enable all letters to remain visible once each word has been identified. Some letters have been used more than once (for different words) so all letters need to remain visible (if words are instead ‘crossed out’ this makes the letters harder to read and identify). This word search may be printed and laminated to be reused.
Useful for…
I find word searches like this good way to motivate pupils to read words and while engaging in the activity learners are encouraged to focus on the spellings as they really think about the order of which letter follows which within each ‘household’ word especially as they try to track words which are hidden backwards or diagonally within the word search! This word search can make a good use of time as a follow on activity for early finishers. Word searches can be an engaging homework task, useful in supporting reading, spelling and writing.
I hope this resource will be useful to range of educators including parents, support workers, additional and special needs assistants, tutors and teachers.
Online learning
This resource is also ideal to upload and use in on-line classrooms, such as Sherpa.

What’s included?
This download includes two black and white versions of number lines to 20. Each page shows four ‘zero to twenty’ number lines one with vertical black counting tracks (above), one without - both in landscape orientation, pdf format.
Who’s it for?
These simple number lines to 20 have been carefully designed for pupils in years one and two as well as early years children and students needing additional learning support.
Resource layout
There are x4 number lines from 0 - 20 on each page with plenty of space between each number line. The numbers on these number lines are size 15 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font.
These simple number lines (with/without vertical counting tracks) can be used in a variety of ways though primarily to model/practise counting on and back to 20 from zero, knowing which number comes before/next or is one more/one less and are ideal to practise counting with ‘jumps’ to add and subtract numbers within 20.
The landscape format provides optimal space for drawing ‘jumps’ between numbers to track counting on and back both above and below each number line.
Recommendations
Different numbers could be covered to encourage learners to identify which number comes before/next.
The black text makes this resource easy to photocopy.

What’s included?
This download includes x2 pages, portrait orientation, in pdf format.
What is it?
This is a simple game for two players to reinforce 2D shape names and the number of sides each shape has.
The game includes two boards on page 2 (one for each player) with a space for each player to write their names on the line above. All that is needed in addition is a die (dice). One to share is best to promote turn-taking.
Players take turns to roll the die. The number on the die indicates the number of sides of the shape e.g. a circle has ‘one’ side therefore if the player rolls a ‘one’ with the die the ‘circle’ can be ‘ticked off’ on the board. Alternatively a counter/‘matching 2D plastic/wooden shape’ could be placed on top of each shape on the board once the shape has been ‘rolled’. The first player to tick off (or cover up!) all 2D shapes on their board is the ‘winner’ !
Clear visual instructions are included on page 1 of this resource which the players could be encouraged to read themselves before playing the game.
Who’s it for?
This ‘2D shape name game’ resource has been designed for early years and pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support.
What’s needed?
One die (dice) to share or one each. Foam dice are great as really quiet!
Optional
A shallow box, e.g. half of an empty cereal box laid flat on its back with front removed (ideally lined with a piece ‘felt’ fabric to soften sound) to roll the die into could be used to avoid dice rolling away (e.g. off a table top). This should avoid any momentum of the game being interrupted while searching for lost dice !
Resource layout
The instruction text is size 14 ‘Avenir’ font. Instructions are included on page 1, the game itself (x2 game boards) are included on page 2.
Recommendations
This PDF has been designed to print and write-on. It could be laminated and a dry-wipe pen used to enable reuse and improve durability.

Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for children in the early years, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.
What’s it for?
This resource has been designed to encourage learners to investigate the concept of symmetry within x6 spot/dot pictures.
How to use it?
Learners use the printed B&W/colour spots on the left to complete each of the x6 ‘symmetrical patterns’ on the right side.
Alternatively learners can create their own symmetrical spot/dot patterns using the blank sheet provided.
Suggestion
Using safety mirrors along side the activity would make a huge difference to understanding (or not) for some learners. Best to use these where they are available,
Resource Details…
The B&W and colour version of this resource show the same patterns (with answers) but a ‘blank’ is included for the adult/learners to create their own.

What’s included?
This download includes one A4, landscape pdf sheet to practise ‘counting in 2’s’ from 0 to 50 (and back) using rainbow coloured circle shaped ‘beads’. Dotted guide line showing where to cut and punch a hole are included. The hole to punch is 5mm in size though a smaller hole punch could be used (to increase the fine motor skills challenge!)
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.
Resource Details
The layout includes x6 rows and x9 columns of circular shaped beads each with a 2’s number from 0 - 50 (and back again). Beads are arranged in rainbow order to help guide and motivate learners in finding the next number (and colour) in the pattern. This is an ideal activity to keep learners busy and independent.

Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for children in the early years, pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support.
What’s it for?
This resource encourages learners to identify 2D shapes while practising counting (carefully and systematically) up to 12 objects.
How to use it?
Learners identify the x8 different 2D shapes hidden (on page 2) and once they have counted the total number of each shape (maximum number is 12) learners record this total amount on the recording sheet (page 1). Answers are provided on pages 3 and 4 in exactly the same layout for quick, easy reference - encouraging learners to be autonomous in checking their own work (carefully).
Suggestion
Encourage learners to use a different coloured crayon/felt tip pen when counting each different 2D shape (using page 2). This will make finding and counting each different 2D shape much easier and systematic for learners.
Provide ‘answers sheets’ (pages 3 and 4) for groups to share and only once the 2D Shape Eye Spy activity has been completed!

Page 1
The resource explores the pattern of counting in twos, on a number grid to 32 learners first circle the ‘twos numbers’.
Learners are then presented with the two times table in order with boxes in which to write their answers. They can use their findings from the circles drawn on the grid above to complete this, however if this is too tricky initially learners can leave this section and proceed onto the next (last) section (which begins on page 1) - exploring ‘pairs’ of numbers, using ‘head phones’ as a clear visual guide.
Page 2 continues to explore ‘pairs of twos numbers’ using the headphones throughout to make the question being asked clear to learners. There is a box for learners to write their answers in for each question.
There is a clear space for learners to write their name on the upper right side of page 1 (vertically) and the lower left side of page 2 (horizontally).

What’s included?
x6 ‘yellow themed’ pages of x4 ‘0 - 10 number lines’. Each version slightly different (with/without vertical number tracks above) x4 number lines per page. All displaying numbers 0-10 All other colours available in my TES shop (also for free) - I know how important colour (and choice!) can be for little learners!
Resource layout
This download includes x4 number lines per page, each displaying numbers from 0 - 10, all in landscape, PDF format, x6 sheets total.
Each page is slightly different. These difference are listed below (top to bottom, in PDF order) -
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Yellow numbers, black box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Yellow numbers, yellow box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above (all yellow)
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Black numbers, yellow box lines, NO vertical count on/back tracks above
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Yellow numbers, yellow box lines, yellow vertical count on/back tracks above (all yellow)
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Yellow numbers, yellow box lines, black vertical count on/back tracks above
x4 number lines 0 - 10 Black numbers, yellow box lines, yellow vertical count on/back tracks above
This resource enables learners to count on/back from 0 to 10 and have been designed to make using the number line and counting as clear as possible.
The size 50 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the numbers easy to read and models good formation of all numerals from 0 to 10.
The landscape format and area between each number line provides optimal space for drawing ‘jumps’ between numbers to track counting on and back both above and below each number line.
Recommendations
Different numbers could be covered to encourage learners to identify which number comes before/next.
The black text versions makes this resource easy to photocopy and clear to view if placed under tracing paper to enable learners to practice their handwriting of number formation.

What’s included?
This download includes one resource - two pages featuring x12 ‘half’ problems (using fruit/veg) to complete - each of the x12 questions involves sharing the total amount (from 1 to 12) into two equal groups - or ‘halves’. The learner will discover which numbers between 1 and 12 can and cannot be halved and of those numbers which can be halved equally learners will identify how much ‘half’ is.
Resource layout
The learner can draw a line from each fruit/veg to each ‘plate’ pictured below to systematically share out the total number of items (fruit/veg) each time until all have been shared (or not!) I find it helpful for learners to say out loud “One for you and one for me” as each item is being shared/distributed to each plate either physically or as the line is being drawn linking the fruit/veg to each plate, every time. Where the total number is ‘even’ (and the fruit/veg can be shared out equally) the learner can write the number of fruit/veg on one plate (the ‘half’ amount) on the line underneath at the end of the question (e.g.) 'Half of 2 is 4
For the even numbers (which can successfully be split equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the green ‘tick’ displayed, for the odd numbers (which cannot be shared equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the red ‘cross’ displayed before moving on to the next question.
At the end of the second sheet there are x12 matching questions about each individual number to recap on which of the numbers between 1 and 12 can/cannot be split equally into half. The colour of the box around each question correlates to the colour of the question completed above guiding the learner more clearly (visually) back to each question box above to check their finding if needed.
There is also a space to write those numbers which can be split equally into half together (the even numbers!) and those which cannot be split equally into half can be written together (the odd numbers!). The questions in all boxes have been designed to look the same in order that the learner can make the discovery that ‘even’ numbers can be shared into two equal 'halves’ (and odd numbers cannot!) for themselves. Once complete this resource makes a useful reference tool to refer back to as needed to assist young learners during various maths linked activities.
This resource uses ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font in sizes 18/22/25 making the text and numbers easy to read as well as modelling the process of halving numbers (from 1 to 12) clearly to young learners.

This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.

The layout includes x6 rows and x9 columns of circular shaped beads each with an upper/lowercase letter. Beads are arranged in rainbow order to help guide and motivate learners in finding the next number (and colour) in the pattern. This is an ideal activity to keep learners busy and independent.
I have included two versions of the letter ‘k’ as some learners may be more used to the look of one style than the other.

What’s included?
This download includes four A4, landscape pdf sheets to practise ‘counting objects and ordering numbers to 10’.
This activity has been designed to use with miniature ‘Easter chicks’ as pictured in the photos. These sheets are intended to be printed onto card to improve durability (and usability!)
How to use this resource
This resource has been designed to be a ‘table top’ activity for learners to explore independently.
There are two pages featuring green boxes with different amounts of eggs (between 0 and 10) on each. Learners are to count out the corresponding number of Easter chicks onto each of these eggs (pictured on the cards).
There is a sheet featuring ‘numbered eggs’. These are intended to be cut out and used to ‘label’ the groups of chicks once they have been counted out. I have included ‘egg holder’ (with grass pictured on each base) which ‘hold’ each numbered egg.
These resources were designed for an adult to pre-cut all items so that all items can be presented to learners as a crisp, fresh new activity to investigate and explore.

Page 1 includes x11 numbered eggs (0-10) with dotted lines around the outside of each to guide cutting. There are two boxes at the top which can both be cut out and displayed with the activity to guide learners/support adults with what the activity is for and questions to ask/think about to learners them on task.
Pages 2 and 3 include x11 rectangular boxes (with green outlines), each displaying a different number of eggs between 0 and 10. The idea is that these are cut out and placed on a table top along with a shallow bowl of ‘Easter chicks’ for learners to use to count out the matching number of chicks onto each egg. Once all ‘egg cards’ have been completed learners can then ‘label’ these groups of eggs and chicks with the numbered eggs’ (page 1)
Page 4 includes x10 ‘grass numbered egg holders’ for learners (or adults) to display the ‘numbered eggs’ in. Rather than having all items laid flat on the table top, the holders enable the numbered eggs to ‘stand up’. Simple instructions for how to assemble these holders are included at the top of page 4.
