Life Skills in the Community Station activity: The life skill questions in this activity are based around situations and issues which may arise when a child is out in the community. Included in this resource: 40 question station cards (spread over 5 pages) Question list (spread over 2 pages) Student answer sheet (spread over 2 pages) Ideas for running this activity: Option 1: Whole class Print and cut out all of the 40 question cards. Scatter them around the room (put on desks, pin on boards etc.). Print off the student answers sheets ( two pages back to back) and make sure each child has one. Give the children half an hour to forty minutes to work their way around all the question cards whilst filling in their answer sheet. At the end of the activity, have a class discussion about their answers. The teacher can use the questions list to support this. Option 2: 1 to 1 with a child Print and cut out all of the 40 question cards. Scatter them upside down across one desk. Ask the child to pick cards at random and answer them as they go along. Have a discussion with the child after each answer. Extension activity: When you downloaded this activity a ‘Good vs Bad Citizen Worksheet’ was also in the same download. You can use this worksheet as an extension task for early finishers.

Social Emotional Learning Wellbeing Feelings Check In

(0)
Social Emotional Learning Check In Sheets Included: Emotions and feelings sheet - students select any of the 24 different feelings by circling them. The feelings are represented by child friendly images to encourage engagement. They can then rate the feeling 1 to 5 depending on the intensity of the feeling. Emotional reasoning sheet - students select any of the 20 different reasons for their feelings by circling them. The reasoning is broad with a box at the bottom for students to add additional reasons or elaborate. They can then rate the reason 1 to 5 depending on how much this reason is affecting their feelings and emotions. This resource is a great quick check in tool, which supports children in describing their feelings in a simple and accessible manner. It is helpful for students who struggle expressing themselves verbally and are often not confident in talking about their feelings. I use this resource on a weekly basis, students become familiar with the check in and more confident in filling it out and communicating their emotions. Ideal to be printed and laminated, so it can be used repeatedly too. Ideal for a wide range of ages. Resources are in American English.
