A 5 lesson literacy unit based around Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The unit is aimed at year 3 and 4 and gives details of the curriculum objectives covered. The children develop reading comprehension, speaking, planning, writing, editing and SPaG skills during the unit. This is achieved through varied, fun and interactive activities. All five lessons include a SPaG or composition starter, which is always linked to *Romeo and Juliet. * The main activity in lesson 1 is a reading comprehension of a simplified version of the play.
