To Count and represent Objects Worksheet
Activity to meet the year 1 maths objective: Count and represent objects.
Addition to 20 using a number line
Practice using a number line to add numbers to 20
Partition into hundreds, tens and ones
Supporting children’s knowledge and understanding of place value. Two different worksheets; partitioning into hundreds, tens and ones; and partitioning into tens and ones.
Fraction Sort- 1/2, 1/4 and One whole
Sort the shapes into the correct column according to the fraction that has been shaded. 1/2, 1/4 and One whole.
Sort the shape according to properties
Includes 5 different tables with different properties to easily differentiate to suit the needs and abilities of the children in your class.
Properties include names of shapes and number of sides. Also includes a blank table to allow students to come up with their own properties.
Shapes to cut out and sort- includes a colour and black and white version.
Shade in the 4 x tables
A quick and easy starter/ plenary activty to help students to practice and recognise their 4 x tables
Flags of Europe Power Point

Also includes a ‘passport’ page for the students to collect the information they find out about each country.
Shade in the 5 x tables
A quick and easy starter/ plenary activty to help students to practice and recognise their 5 x tables
Properties of 2D shapes
2 differentiated tables for students to fill in the properties of 2D shapes
-To complete number of sides and vertices
-To complete number of sides, vertices and lines of symmetry.
Year 1 Subject Vocabulary Cards
This resource contains vocabulary cards for the following national curriculum subjects for year 1:
Art
Geography
History
Maths
Science
All of the vocabulary the children will be exposed to and learning throughout the year are included, in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
The vocabulary cards could be used within a working wall/ display in the classroom. The children can be exposed to the words they will be learning about (also helping with the speilings of the words)
They could also be used as an activity for the children for them to find out what the words mean.
Shape Addition
This resource combines children’s knowledge of shapes and the number of sides as well as their addition skills.

A quick exercise for children to review and practice rounding to the nearest hundred (including word problems)
Rounding to the nearest 10
A quick exercise to allow children to review and practice rounding to the nearest 10 (including using word problems).

A full lesson including lesson PowerPoint and recording sheet to meet the objective ‘I can name and recognise common 3D shapes’ including: cube, cuboid, sphere, cone and cylinder.
This lesson discusses properties of 3D shapes, as well as where we might find the shapes in our own environment. The lesson then includes a practical activity which allows the children to find 3d shapes in their own environment, which they can then record on their sheet.
Year 1 Addition and Subtraction word problems
A range of addition and subtraction word problems to support mathematical skills with the use of real world application.
6 subtraction problems
6 addition problems

Months of the year colouring pages
A4 months of the year colouring pages. Each page has a month in the middle of the page. Around the month, the child could write or draw what they associate with that month, e.g. in January, they may draw a picture of a snowflake. A fun and simple actiivty to help with learning the months of the year.
I can compare and classify 2D shapes
A complete lesson including lesson PowerPoint and worksheet to meet the objective: ‘I can compare and classify 2D shapes’.
Supports students understanding of 2D shapes- key vocabulary such as names of shapes, sides, vertices and lines of symmetry.
Subtraction Square
Complete the subtraction square- supports children’s understanding of subtraction facts. Fluency practice.
0-20 Picture Matching Activity
Matching activity using the numbers 0-20.
Match te number card to the correct number of dots.
If printing multiple sets, I would recommend using a different colour paper for each set.
Addition Square
Complete the addition square- supports children’s understanding of addition facts using the numbers 1-10 and then 10-20. Once children have a solid understanding of adding numbers using 1- 10- the biggest sum here would be 10+10, they can then move onto adding numbers 1-20.
