GCSE Spanish CHATTY MAT - 3 time frames - past / present / future - Higher level phrases / Idioms

This double sided grammar sheet has everything your student needs to do well at GCSE Spanish I’ve divided the sections into the 3 time zones (past, present, future) for each you have the verb endings, common irregulars, time phrases, and some also include specific hl phrases for that tense. On the reverse you have lots of opinions/ justifications and higher level and idiomatic expression formulas.

Spanish new GCSE - Engaging Speaking lesson model - vocabulary focus - FAMILY

Example is family/ relationships vocabulary from AQA unit 1 but can easily be adapted for other units. You will need a copy of a vocab list - I couldn’t attach screenshots from Kerboodle/ textbook due to copy right tasks: warm up classification task (challenging) dominoes to consolidate understanding of vocabulary game to practise vocab (students write tally at the back of books - teacher says english or spanish and first out of the pair to say it right gets a point) Speaking support in teams guide mark scheme final production task which is challenging differentiated throughout to provide extra support/ challenge

Spanish KS3 - Present tense (regular) grammar worksheet

(0)
4 step present tense 1 - match up Spanish pronouns 2 - complete endings table (with options) 3 - scaffolded conjugation 4 - challenge - Students to work out which verb ending is needed through analysing the context, then conjugate the words, then translate the phrases - lots of cognates so doesn't matter that they haven't seen all of them before Developed for a high ability year 7 class

Spanish grammar - MA GCSE/A LEVEL - the perfect tenses

(0)
Present, present subjunctive, imperfect, conditional and future perfect tenses. Handout to explain the use for each one - with HABER in all tenses. Interactive lesson with a focus on inductive learning/ practise. I have done this primarily with A level but have also taught it to some MA students for GCSE. the resource works really well because it encourages them to conjugate a range of vocabulary in all perfect tenses and allows students to work in their books but also orally due to the competitive sections of the lesson.

New GCSE Spanish - Writing/Speaking skills - 4 tense formulas for the Grade 5!

Engaging lesson with 2 'games’ Developed for weaker students who struggle to embed 4 tenses into their work - but also useful for all foundation students to review key time expressions and practice comparing 2+ tenses format: 1- categorize time expressions 2 - practice time expressions (flying Spanish game - good for spelling) 3 - explain the 4 tenses are needed for the grade 5 4 - peer translation race game 5 - ‘smart revision’ task - to help students reflect on what their weak topics are/ direct revision
Spanish new GCSE - Higher Speaking exam skills - AQA style Role plays x30 - ALL TOPICS

Spanish new GCSE - Higher Speaking exam skills - AQA style Role plays x30 - ALL TOPICS

(0)
Developed in line with the AQA spec and resources in the textbook and on Kerboodle as my students have already completed many of the specimen materials. Topics are in order (1-12), for topics 1-8 each topic has 3 role plays each, for 9/10 there are 3 and for 11/12 there are 3. Each role play card follows the AQA style, there is a mix of registers (predominantly tú but some usted also) and situations, On each role play I have included a suggested question for the ! unexpected question but this could be deleted before giving to students.

* Inductive starter so students work out how the speaking exam works (Information search activity) * Analysis of common issues before the exam - reflection opportunities for students to assess how they will sufficiently prepare for the exam * Experiment which proves revision aids vocabulary recall (2 options for the task, either an online resource to do as a class OR pair/ independent dominoes with useful photocard vocabulary - this includes prepositions of place vocabulary) * Example photo card for students to prepare as they would in the real exam * Some support on how to structure their bullet points (I have invented a formula which helps students easily develop answers with opinions, reasons, development and further tenses) * Links to a great online resource which students may use at home to revise vocab further
