Le jeu des 7 familles- Regular ER verbs present tense card games
Le jeu des sept familles - A classic card game is fun for students of all ages! This version is for practicing the present tense conjugations of regular ER verbs. 2 game sets are included using the following verbs: travailler, voyager, gagner, parler, jouer, manger, danser, chanter, étudier, aimer, regarder, fermer, nager, préparer.
Includes:
How to play (en français)
Set 1: 42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or cardstock
Set 2: 42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or cardstock
This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize verb conjugations, and it will have your students speaking to each other in French the whole time! In the deck of 42 cards there are 7 families of 6 cards (je - tu - il - nous - vous - ils).
One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the “pioche”. One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He might say: Dans la famille PARLER, est-ce que tu as JE PARLE?
His goal is to come up with a complete family. If the player doesn’t have it, he says PIOCHE. If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

Here’s what some teachers have to say about these French conversation cards:
Great addition to my resources. Merci. The students really enjoy using these for our conversation times.
Excellent resource! Many different verb tenses used. I am looking forward to using them later in the year with my french 3 students.
I love these! Thank you so much for putting these together. Printed and put on rings they are a great filler for any time.
Use these cards at the end of the year to bring together all that your upper level students have learned, use them at back to school as a review, or just cut them out and have them ready to go on key rings at any time of the year for quick bell ringer activities or for when you want your students to practice speaking French. You can even use these cards as writing prompts.
Merci beaucoup!
L’environnement - French conversation questions - Le Jour de la Terre - Earth Day
List of 30 vocabulary words related to the environment and pollution with 20 thought provoking discussion questions. The questions are suitable for upper level and AP French or for middle and high school French immersion. This resource is especially useful for your chapter on the environment or for Earth Day - Le Jour de la Terre.
I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page.
Also included is a set of speaking cards for students to use prior to using the discussion cards so that they can become familiar with the theme and many new words. The cards just need to be printed and cut out so that your students can use them in pairs or small groups. Each card says, “Décris le mot suivant en français et ton partenaire le devinera.” The vocabulary word is written both in French and English since many of the words will be new. This exposure to the vocabulary will make the discussion that follows flow easier. Students will still have easy access to the list of words on the other side of the photocopied questions.
Don’t want to print? That’s ok! A PDF with just one card per page is included for easy projecting or for tablets.
