This is a 24 page task booklet based on the book: Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror. I created this booklet for my KS3 English reading class. The booklet contains 22 different tasks that pupils can complete as they read through the book. There are tasks for each of the ten chapters. This is a twenty-nine page PowerPoint that is designed to be used with learners who are due to complete their English Functional Skills writing examination. It is designed for L1 and L2 learners, however, can be used to teach Entry 3 learners. This module is: Letter writing. The PowerPoint is a step-by-step guide of how to write and format a formal letter. At the end of the presentation, there are two letter writing tasks for learners to attempt. For one of the letter writing tasks I have given on-screen ‘tips’ on how to plan the content of the letter and how to ‘bulk out’ a draft in order to raise the learners word count. The PowerPoints contents include: How to write a formal letter What to include in a formal letter Sample assessment questions How to plan your letters content and how to ‘bulk out’ your writing. A booklet is also attached with the PPT letter writing texts included and a 1 page overview of how to correctly format a letter.

This PPT was used as part of a revision session. I displayed a piece of context on the interactive white board from the PPT. Each piece related to one of the fifteen poems in the anthology. We read through the slide as a class and they were then asked which poem the information related to. They would then write the contextual information in their exercise books to be used for revision purposes. The information is off free resources I found during Google searches. I then compiled it into this PPT.
