These can be printed off on one side of A4 paper so students can peer assess each other. • A spontaneity strategy presentation with a focus on ‘time gaining’ phrases for students to use when they are thinking of their answers • A detailed presentation with a range of ‘Que penses-tu de……?’ and ‘Préfères-tu ……ou ……? questions with possible scaffolded responses. An 11 page booklet about Tour de France with slides covering 4 questions using sentence builders The booklet covers the questions: What do you think of the Tour de France? What is in the picture? What do you think of the song about the Tour de France? This booklet is aimed at both KS3 and KS4 students as there is support but also challenge built into the work. This is my first lesson for the new French GCSE in Year 10, setting out lesson and exam board expectations and focusing on phonics. These are lessons which can be adapted for any level of class at Key Stage 3 or 4. The new GCSE requires students to be able to express themselves in writing and speaking more spontaneously. I have found that discussing topics such as music has helped develop students' confidence. Lesson 1: Raise student’s cultural awareness of young French people’s musical taste in France today and developing spontaneous talk skills to express opinions on modern French hits.
