I’ve created this resource to help teach my class historical facts about life in the trenches during World War 1 (The Great War). There are 8 tasks for the children to complete using Minecraft. Some tasks have smaller, mini tasks within. This resource is perfect to use to aid and support your teaching of the computing curriculum and uses gaming as a tool to emerse the children in WW1. Each slide has a fact/stat to help increase the children’s knowledge. I’m using this activity to help enrich my classes writing where we will be writing a letter from the trenches. Hi, thanks for viewing. Here is a series of 4-5 lessons that cover place value. Over 80 slides. The slides support the teaching of mastery by starting with basic concepts and taking all the class with you as the tasks get trickier. These tasks are designed for children to use practical equipment to support their learning. The lesson activities include true or false Q’s, individual tasks, guess the number an build, connect four and many more. We have recently introduced double maths sessions with a break splitting them, this has given us time to embed concepts and use the correct vocab. It has also allowed the children to discuss Maths at length and these slides support this. You can use this as a 1-2-1, small intervention or whole class resource. You van change the sequence of sessions but I’ve created them so that they build upon skills and hopefully link together :) I hope that you find this resource useful. Many thanks

This resource structures persuasive writing for your whole class. I have used this resource for Year 3/4 but it can easily be adapted for year 5/6. In the past I have used this a whole lesson and written each sentence as a class to really create an in depth piece of writing. I would ask the children for their ideas and they would collaboratively come up with ideas and then write down after sharing them with whole class. I have also cut the sentence strips out and allowed my higher attaining pupils to play around with the structure. This resource allows the lowers a structure to follow and the opportunity to write without worrying about content and structure. Here is 1 sheet of 10 more 10 less 1 less 1 more puzzle grids. Ask the children to try and solve the number sentences to solve the numbers they must add/subtract 1 or 10 more/less than. I've included some coins for the children to recognise and keep their skills up to date. Thanks

This worksheet uses Minecraft to enthuse the children to learn position and movement. Some of the questions stretch the children by asking them to write instructions for a beebot and some q's have Minecraft objects that start in a diagonal position. This 1 more/less 10more/less hunt can be differentiated many ways. I have already differentiated it 5 ways for my own class and printed out the sheets on different coloured paper for each group to find. Once the children have found the coloured shape that they've been given they must solve 1 more/less or 10 more less depending on their ability. Hi, This resource is great for whole lessons. You can model writing a sustained piece and structure how to add depth and creativity to a paragraph/short/long piece of writing. I’ve played around with how I use this presentation, here are some suggestions, and if you find better ways then please share your good practice. 1. Print slides and allow children to use as prompts for writing about a stimulus. 2. Show children stimulus and then do some talk for writing, than ask them to write sentence/paragraph 1 and then share with class. Repeat process for all 6 sentence types. 3. Print the slides and cut the strips up. Allow children to mix and match to create different structures. I really hope that this resource is useful. Many thanks

Add an element of festive fun to your Maths lessons whilst still engaging the children and ensuring that your class have opportunities to tackle mastery style questions. There are 20 qs in total. The children love to be active during Phonic sessions. This activity can be adapted to any occasion/activity. For example you could use it as a dart/arrow board or roll an object and see what word it lands on. I have used it in trays or baskets and with many items that the children roll , e.g pebbles, die, small cubes, spinning tops to name a few. This resource includes 5 pdfs which contain 4 boards each (20 in total). They cover the split digraphs a_e e_e i_e o_e u_e and include real and nonsense words ( pseudonyms ). This resource includes 7 game boards and an Interactive Smart board version. The alien words (pseudonyms) cover all the split digraphs and there is one board that covers just the sounds. To further extend the game you could hold your own world cup with group rounds and then knockout rounds. You could use two boards or a die up to 3. I hope that your class enjoys playing these games.
