Within this lesson children will learn how the Great Fire started on Pudding Lane in Thomas Farriner’s bakery. This lesson will ask the children to act as historical detectives and work out the clues as to why they think the bakery was the cause of the fire. Children will link their prior knowledge of London, the fact it was overcrowded and buildings were made out of wood, to draw conclusions to the start of the fire.
