GERMAN PERFECT TENSE WITH SEIN GCSE GERMAN GRAMMAR KS4 GERMAN GRAMMAR KS3 GERMAN GRAMMAR GERMAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE GERMAN VERBS WITH SEIN IN THE PERFECT TENSE 150 QUICK CONJUGATIONS, 6 WORKSHEETS, ANSWER KEY, VERB LISTS The product is non-editable in a zipped format. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example with the perfect tense, students need to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary in the present tense - there are verbs that require either haben or sein, so the focus on the auxiliary sein with this workbook helps to embed this concept, and to get used to ensuring that the past participle is situated at the end of the clause or sentence. Forming the past participle of a whole range of verb groups follows a certain pattern, which students are able to identify and predict the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations will certainly help to embed that successfully. The format is as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: = Quick Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. = Quick Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. GERMAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE BUNDLE #1

14 Resources
ALEVEL GCSE GERMAN VERBS CONJUGATION PRESENT PERFECT IMPERFECT TENSES SIXTEEN WORKBOOKS & ANSWER KEYS: REGULAR VERBS : SEPARABLE VERBS : REFLEXIVE VERBS : IRREGULAR & MIXED VERBS : HIGH-FREQUENCY VERBS : VERBS TAKING SEIN IN THE PERFECT TENSE : 2,400 CONJUGATION QUESTIONS My students love these for quick conjugation recall practice, and they're the perfect activity for practice and revision. This is a bundle of sixteen 'quick conjugation' workbooks, which provide students with lots of opportunities to practice how to conjugation a range of high-frequency verbs in German with a focus on three tenses: present, perfect and imperfect. One of the workbooks focuses on verbs taking sein in the perfect tense. There are 150 conjugations in each workbook, with an individual focus on particular verbs groups. That's 2,400 quick conjugation questions in total. There is a complete answer key for each individual workbook too - my students really like to have the answer keys, as they find it enables them to work more independently, and they benefit from both self and peer assessment. I find answer keys really essential, as they provide students with additional opportunity to engage with language. I've been using the workbooks for a long time, and found they work best when I give my students regular and frequent chances to revisit the workbooks, including noting their thoughts on the Notes and Next Steps template. That really does help them to focus on their progress. We also use the template to guide and inform whole-group discussions about German conjugation in particular and German grammar in general. Even my advanced students get the chance to go 'back to the beginning' and work quickly through the conjugations, just to be sure that they have really grasped the concept. I use the workbooks as classwork, as homework, as 'free choice' resources, holiday refresher and revision work, and also as focused activities for sub lessons. They really do work well in a broad range of contexts. The verbs groups are: - regular verbs - irregular and mixed verbs - regular and irregular separable verbs - regular and irregular reflexive verbs - regular and irregular high-frequency verbs - verbs taking sein in the perfect tense The tenses are: - present tense (Präsens) - perfect tense (Perfekt) - imperfect tense (Präteritum) The structure of each quick conjugation workbook is: 10-page work book with two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge One: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge Two: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation challenge Three: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. * 6-page answer key book which students find really useful, and I actually consider essential for this type of workbook - either to self- or peer-assess - it's also a great time saver for teachers, as well as a way of encouraging students to really assume more responsibility for, and independence in, their learning. * Notes and Next Steps page - we use this to map progress, and to note ideas for improvement. We also use it as to guide and inform whole-group discussion about learning and progress in general, which is a really popular and effective activity. It's also a great place to note any additional verbs that students learn, and this helps to build up a really strong verb vocab bank. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Spanish, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their Spanish vocabulary books, or file them in their Spanish vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful Spanish vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner Spanish learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows o’clock on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to Spanish prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with o’clock, I then move on to additional time sets. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I use for Spanish vocabulary display, or plain. **Try this super simple worksheets freebie, focusing on how to tell the time in Spanish o’clock: HOW TO TELL THE TIME IN SPANISH : O’CLOCK WORKSHEETS FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-telling-the-time-o-clock-worksheets-freebie-12864294 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish visual vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with Spanish resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH KS3 FRENCH KS4 FRENCH DATES DAYS MONTHS SEASONS CHALLENGE CARDS The resource consists of non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way, The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. These 36 French Dates, Days, Months & Seasons Challenge Cards are perfect for advanced KS2 French and beginner KS3 French - I also use them for revision for my KS4 French students, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of this essential French vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. The questions are useful for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in French in general, with grammatical concepts such as definite and indefinite articles, singular and plural, and gender agreement, and certainly in French dates, days, months and seasons in particular. The questions are entirely in French, with some translation questions both from French into English, and English into French. It’s important to help students understand as soon as possible that translation does not mean simply exchanging word for word, and that languages do work in different ways to express the same things. Generally, the questions all range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some words students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. Certainly, core language is repeated throughout in slightly different contexts to support and progress learning. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. A great instant reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency French adjectives. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a first collection of 25 high-frequency French adjectives that I’ve found are ideal for beginner French into intermediate French learning programs - it’s an important step in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful French adjectives vocabulary bank, are able to recognize French adjectives, and are confident with the meaning of those adjectives in English - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at adjectival agreement, producing more complex and descriptive language, and using the adjectives in a communicative and practical context, which is essential for progressing in language learning. The purpose of the list isn’t to simply learn all 25 adjectives by rote: it’s a longer-term reference resource that students use for example when they’re writing creatively, preparing written texts, or working with their talk partner to develop speaking skills. My students also use their vocabulary reference lists to help them audit their developing French vocabulary in general. There are two alphabetical lists - one French-English, and one English-French, as I’ve found that most language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag (which is good for French vocabulary display), and plain white. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on adjectives in French for your students, the list is a good starting point. GERMAN NUMBERS 0-31 I HAVE WHO HAS FREEBIE

(13)
PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN NUMBERS GAMES ACTIVITIES German Numbers 0-31 I have, Who has… ? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in German. The game has a***multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading out loud***, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a German number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card null, and ending with the final card, einunddreißig. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner German learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult German learners, who really enjoy it too. The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word, and how to link sound with spelling. Try to print in colour if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning - and the monster theme is popular with all ages and grades! Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little harder on their concentration, pronunciation and reading out loud skills. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best German accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! Have a browse in my store for more German active learning activities, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resources boxes, and lots of freebies too! PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH NUMBERS 0-21 WORD WALL It’s easy to create an instant introduction to French Numbers 0-21 with this set of word wall cards, featuring beginning numbers that I like to share with my young learners of French. They’re really useful during the introduction phase, and we also use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. We like to do number guessing and calculation games at regular intervals too. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read - we do lots of guessing and mental math games, using these as a visual prompt. Although I tend to get my students to prepare the word wall header, I’ve included one here, as we often have both on our wall. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave. The cards to look great in colour, but are still really nice if you prefer to print in B&W to keep costs down. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate as it’s definitely worth the extra prep time and expense. The word wall cards hang really nicely, and they remain in excellent condition for a long time, so you’ll be able to use the***French Numbers Word Wall*** for years. SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS FREEBIE #2

(2)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS2 SPANISH KS3 SPANISH SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS Los colores en español 8 posters / flashcards These 4***adjectival agreement*** posters, with a focus on the colour verde, make an ideal grammar and speaking prompt in the Spanish classroom - for example, I encourage students to look carefully at the differences between el monstruo verde and los monstruos verdes. Giving learners the opportunity to look very closely at language, to identify similarities and differences with their first language, as well as rules and patterns in the target language, is a really key language teaching and learning strategy. I use high-frequency beginner Spanish vocabulary to do this. As students build their vocabulary, with increasing understanding of gender and gender agreement, they are able to apply those rules and patterns to new language. I use questions such as Verdadero o falso? El monstruo verdes? , really emphasizing pronunciation, so that they can hear the difference in agreement. I often write the questions on the whiteboard too, as it’s equally important that they are able to***recognise the differences in the written words*** too, and to link sound with spelling . Use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the Spanish flag, or black wave. Laminate the flashcards / posters if possible - they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use them for many years to come! Have a browse in my store for more Spanish flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! NEWLY-REVISED AND UPDATED RESOURCE COMING SOON! GERMAN TELLING TIME GAMES CARDS AND RECALL WORKSHEETS WORKBOOK - PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AS WELL AS PRACTISING HOW TO TELL TIME IN GERMAN O'CLOCK AND HALF PAST THE HOUR - IDEAL FOR BEGINNER GERMAN! Really helps to create a lively language learning environment. Students develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their understanding and knowledge of how to tell time in GERMAN in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The cards, card templates and accompanying Recall and Write challenges have a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. Encourage students to reflect on their progress, and note targets for improvement using the Notes & Next Steps template - it's a great learning habit for students to develop from an early age. This set includes a range of games and activities featuring the clock times o’clock and half past the hour. Students can play alone, in pairs or in small-groups. There are lots of whole-group games to play too. The games and activities are particularly useful as a set of either homework or revision activities as students prepare for exams and progress to new stages in their GERMAN learning programme. I’ve used Wie spät ist es? as well as Wie viel Uhr ist es? so that students can see that both are used. The accompanying Reference, Recall and Write workbook includes a GERMAN to English time phrase and clock face reference workbook, which students find useful as a learning support resource. The resource comprises two non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, shared or rewritten in anyway.
