Powerpoints and Worksheets for 2 lessons on Histograms. One where the pupils learn to draw them and one with a recap of drawing as well as how to interpret some simple questions. Some can be done directly from the board with pupils discussing how to answer the questions given. Pupils learn to calculate the volume and surface area of spheres using the relevant formulae. There is a selection of harder questions to challenge the more able on the sheet. In the powerpoint is a link to a demonstration of the formula (not involving calculus as students studying this topic most likely will not have encountered this yet!). This is a topic that is quite hard to explain but hopefully this 2 lesson sequence will help. Pupils should already know how to plot linear and quadratic graphs and this builds up to using the graph of one equation to solve a different one.
