I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

Tudors, English Reformation and Spanish Armada KS3 Knowledge Test

(0)
Based around two units from a Year 8 SOW focusing on the 16th and 17th centuries (this can be found in my shop). Students are given a range of 1 mark knowledge questions on dates/names/events/definitions associated with the Tudors, English Reformation and the Spanish Armada. This form of assessment would be in addition to knowledge and source essays to practise the skills required for GCSE. Also included is a sheet with answers to all of the questions. The test is 35 questions long (35 marks).
World Governments Display

World Governments Display

(0)
Several resources to create a 'World Governments' display as part of KS3/KS4 History or Politics. Students were introduced to the various forms of government that exist/have existed and then given the task of researching a particular country. They included the flag of the country, basic information and a summary of their type of government. This formed the basis of our Year 9 work on Electoral Reform in Britain. Also included are titles, display questions and other information sheets to add to the display. The only thing required is a map of the world (and, if desired, a summary of the different government types). As our display was quite small I took a map of the world from the internet and enlarged this to A3. I also intend to mark the countries that have been researched on the map, and have the students find which one is which; you could also use string to label each one.

Popular Culture and the Witchcraze: Thematic Table

This resource is intended to be used alongside other resources relating to the OCR A Level topic: Popular Culture and the Witchcraze. This revision table should be used at the very end of the course, or could be completed section-by-section as students work through the content. The table lists the most common themes that feature in the course down one side, with the 3 case studies (+ Europe) appearing along the top. This table will therefore help students when writing thematic questions, as they should ensure that they can draw content from a wide geographical and chronological area.

Coastal Defences

(0)
Resources relating to a Year 8 Geography lesson on coastal defences. Included is a PowerPoint presentation where students are introduced to the different types of sea defences that are available (encourage comments on cost, appearance, suitability etc.) Students can then use the worksheets to decide how they would defend the coast line of Hornsea (I laminated the map so they could draw on their ideas with whiteboard pens). You could stretch G&T students by applying costs to the different types of defences and giving them a budget, or you could throw a curve ball such as: 'residents have said they do not want sea walls'. These are great resources for introducing coastal defences and students can then begin to compare the benefits/limitations of each.

The key terms for this topic are numerous and these are just a selection of some of the ones that students find tricky. Great as a starter or for homework.

ICT iGCSE Unit 1 Assessment

(0)
A short 20 mark assessment for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification. Questions have all been previously included on CIE papers. This would be ideal for an end of unit assessment to test students' knowledge of the different types of computers/printers. Mark schemes can be found on the CIE website; however, all of the questions are relatively straight forward.
