100 Minute lesson looking at British Values. Differentiated activity at the end for students to complete and apply them to their school setting.

A lesson that looks at pregnancy and the challenges of having a child. (100 minutes long with small documentary at the end)

BTEC National Unit 1 Level 3 Lesson 1: This lesson looks at family dysfunction. How this can impact on a child. The lesson also looks at divorce and the Robertson/Bowlby study into child separation, it also covers parenting styles. The lesson finishes with a 10 mark question (that I added to Microsoft Teams). It ended up being a double lesson and taking me around 2 hours to complete due to the amount of discussions we had in the online lesson- also suitable for face to face delivery! Lesson 2: Looks at Sibling Rivalry and mainly focused on an episode of Super Nanny. Students then complete some independent research into bullying and create an information leaflet. Lesson 3: This looks at culture, religion and belief. Students do some research into the main religions and how their beliefs impact their diet and medical interventions. There are some video clips to aid discussion and look at cervical screening in BAME women. Students then complete 2 4 mark questions. I again added this onto Teams as an assignment, but within a classroom setting I would ask them to pick the yellow or green tasks for differentiated learning.

I can identify different types of attraction I can consider the different terminology associated with sexual orientation Aimed at KS3, particularly Year 7. Lesson is 100 minutes long. Lesson doesn’t require any printing so is suitable for non-specialists and online learning.

Lesson 2 in a Personal Finance KS4 Unit.

GCSE Sociology 9-1 Specification A Complete unit of lessons and 2 assessments aimed at the AQA Specification for the GCSE unit Families. This bundle would be suitable for other exam boards. This is the same unit, as a bundle already in my shop. I am putting it into one resource, so I can bundle the units together Lessons cover all key thinkers, have exam practice, model answers and differentiated tasks. This bundle also includes the knowledge organiser so is useful as a revision aid.

A progress Checkpoint is a mid way review that is open book. It is meant to be quick and allow students to reflect on learning for the last 6 lessons. Students self-assess and teacher then gives feedback. This is a mid unit for AQA Life in Modern Britain.

Islam Practices aimed at AQA Spec (Year 10). The lesson looks at Mo Salah (Liverpool FC player) as a positive role model (trying to engage boys!) Complete a mark place activity for learning about prayer, followed by planning (or completing dependant on lesson time) as 12 mark response. 3 model answers are provided (from AQA website). A new scheme of work aimed at KS3 Y7. This unit of work will be a Chronology of Monotheism. Starting with Genesis, moving through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each religion will cover Key religious figures, information on their holy book and a rite of passage/religious practice. The aim of this unit is to compliment our GCSE curriculum in which we study Christianity and Islam. The learning journey for the unit is included. L5- Looking at the Torah and it’s importance. Free Resource as I have adapted a diamond 9 activity found on a free TES resource. Uses True Tube video clip.

Assessment for the 9-1 AQA Education unit. Making use of the AQA student responses online. I have added student and teacher feedback to the bottom of the assessment using the mark scheme.

A new unit of work using the PSHE association mapping structure for the new 2020 Relationship, Sex and Health Education area. This unit is aimed at Year 7. But suitable for any KS3 group. Lesson 4 is looking at the media and body image. We look at how the ideal body type has evolved since the start of time, considering why these ideals change and why do we subscribe to them. The lesson then concentrates on the October 2018 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in which they put Tess Holliday on the front (5foot 3 and 300lbs), there is a video from Good Morning Britain (Piers Morgan arguing with Cosmo editor) and students then complete and extended piece of writing on this topic area. They start with a quiz that students can mark with their knowledge organiser. Students can then use their book notes to complete the checkpoint so they are practicing the skills rather than concentrating on subject knowledge. Students feedback doesn’t include a number, in a feedback episode they improve their answers using exam technique.
