A colourful, creative way to keep track of children's knowledge of the timestables. I printed this chart on A3, filled in the children's names and ticked off the timestables as they knew them.
We found it was a nice visual way to keep a note of who knew which timestables and it also became a little competitive in who knew the most.

A simple 10 X 10 multiplication resource to help children with their times tables. I often allow my lower groups to use it so that I can test their knowledge of the column method and not just of the times tables.
This lesson plan provides children with an opportunity to engage with geometry in a way that should be clear to each individual learner.
This lesson plan is well differentiated to the point where each group is challenged while there needs are being bet simultaneously.
This plan includes lessons on:
2D shape properties and classification
Lines of symmetry
Lines of symmetry in irregular shapes
2D shapes in different orientations
Classification of triangles.
As the title suggests, there are many practical activities involved, including creating a symmetrical robot, practical classification and use of mirrors.

Short multiplication game for year 3/4. This resource has differentiated games for high, middle and low ability. The game is explained on the sheet and all you will need is a dice between each pair.
A powerpoint I created to encourage critical thinking while converting units of measure. Activity is also available on the powerpoint differentiated. I will attach it as a document also.

Mastering multiplication facts is such an important component to math fluency. This packet is hands-on, FUN, engaging and provides students with a meaningful way to help master basic multiplication facts from 2-12 while having FUN!
Tic-Tac-Toe/X’s and O’s Multiplication is a fun way for students to practice basic multiplication facts. This game is played just like the traditional game of tic-tac-toe but with multiplication facts.
*Each player uses a different colored game piece to mark their choice. Students must solve the problems correctly to place an X or an O on the board. Three is a row wins the game!
*Each game board focuses on a specific multiplication table or there’s an option for mixed multiplication tables.
In addition, each game board allows students to work/see multiplication problems two different ways.

This Simple Fractions NO PREP packet is full of FUN, ENGAGING activities for students to learn. All you need to do is print and go.
Here is what is included in this Simple Fraction Packet:
*Fraction Helpcard- The helpcard is a self-contained one page card which explains the terms numerator, denominator and can be shrunk, laminated and kept inside children’s book.
*Fractions Page- Students see examples of 1, 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 of a fraction. After looking at a shaded fraction, students are asked to identify the shaded part and the part that is not shaded.
*Color the Fraction- Students are required to color 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 of a each fraction. This pages uses different shapes to help students recognize fractions within divided objects.
*Roll and Color a Fraction- This interactive game allows one or two students to roll a die, and color a fraction in that column. This pages uses circles.
*Roll and Color a Fraction II - This page also has students playing a game in rolling two di and coloring twelfths.
*Roll and Color the Fraction III- Children are playing a game, alternating in in rolling 2 di and 1, then coloring either sixths or twelfths.
**Read and Color the Fraction- This Read and Color the Fraction page will help students practice reading the fraction word and coloring the correct parts of a rectangle.
Split and Color a Fraction -Students are given a simple shape, asked to divide the shape into a specific number of equal parts and color part of the shape a specific color.
*I Understand Parts of a Group- Color the correct parts of each lunch item.
*Ten Frame Fractions- Students look at the written fraction and color the ten frame to match.
Differentiated hands-on building activities whilst identifying 3D shapes.
A week's worth of clear, differentiated planning with explicit learning outcomes for different abilities.
Lots of practical activities to encourage children to use the correct mathematical vocabulary.
This resource includes a detailed plan for a week on subtraction. The plan is differentiated and explicitly lays out what each group will do for their activity each day.
Objectives covered are:
Using column method accurately
Using the inverse to check my answers
Solving word problems involving subtraction
I have also included levelled SATs questions as an extension to extend or assess children's application of subtraction.
These lessons were taught by myself and my year 4 team, who found the outcomes to understanding subtraction were successful.
I have attached a maths skill check also, which I have started to use for the first lesson each week to check children's understanding of a variety of mathematical concepts.
A ONE page worksheet on inverse operations for KS2!
I use this one sheet for each ability group within my Year 4 class. I differentiate through support rather than work. Yes the lower ability children may need more initial support and resources, but they are flying in confidence and in Maths ability. This sheet allows children to move on to a harder challenge every 3 questions, thus challenging each ability group at all times.
Before children start their activity, they need to critically think about a statement written on the paper (work backwards and change the sign). I allow them to talk in mixed ability pairs about this statement and PROVE that it is correct/incorrect before they start their activity. By doing this, children learn to justify their own answers in Mathematics, thus having an overall better understanding for the Mathematical concepts.
I have adopted this strategy for all topics and it’s proving very effective in children’s understanding. GIve it a try and be sure to let me know how it worked in your classroom.

Bronze: No remainders or carry ons.
Silver: Harder division calculations with some remainders.
Gold: All with remainders and involving all times tables.
Upon finishing the gold section, there is an additional section called platinum. This section allows a further challenge for children in completing ‘missing calculation’ division questions, ‘reasoning and explanation’ questions and ‘spot the mistakes’ questions (answers included). It’s based off Maths Mastery ideas.

When teaching multiplication this week, I struggled to find a resource in which I needed. In Mathematics, I like a resource to be differentiated, while allowing the children to move up to a higher set themselves, if they find the work too easy.
This resource allows children to make great progress in one lesson as they can be challenged constantly, rather than completing page after page of the same type of calculation.
My class have not yet moved onto 2 digit multiplication, so it is differentiated by:
Bronze: TO x O (focusing mainly on the 2, 3, 4 and 5 times tables)
Silver: HTO x O (using a range including the 6, 7, 8 and 9 times tables)
Gold: THHTO x O (using a range including the 6, 7, 8 and 9 times tables)
Upon finishing the gold section, there is an additional section called platinum. This section allows a further challenge for children in completing missing calculation multiplication questions (answers included).
I have provided the success criteria at the top of the page, as I like to remind children constantly what they need to remember to do.

This lesson plan clear, detailed and differentiated extremely well. My differentiation groups are labelled bronze, silver and gold, which are referred to daily on the planning. The objectives covered on this plan are:
*What are multiples and factors?
*What are prime numbers and prime factors?
*What are prime and composite numbers?
*How do I solve problems involving multiplication?
*How do I solve problems involving division?
I have taught these lessons myself, and the children achieved the lesson objectives at their own level of ability.

As I’ve said before, I teach in a ‘football CRAZY’ class, who will engage with almost anything if it’s related to football. With that in mind, I have created this activity to use when teaching your children about coordinates.
INCLUDED:
*1 higher ability activity. Children will need to identify the coordinates in which Ronaldo passes the ball. The coordinates range between positive and negative numbers for that extra challenge.
*I lower ability activity: Children will need to identify the coordinates in which Ronaldo passes the ball. The coordinates are within positive numbers.
*Answer sheets for both activities.
