We also cut out the words and pictures and played snap and pairs. Worksheet - I used this for my lower group. They matched the vocabulary to the picture. My other groups used the word mat to write sentences in their Welsh books. My top group wrote with who… gyda fy mam (with my mum) etc.

Our genre was instruction writing. Each task is differentiated. Introduction - use a big piece of sugar paper and ask the children to tell me what to write. We talked about the features that we needed to include (title, numbered points, pictures to illustrate what happened). 3 tasks - Instructions to make bread, instructions to plant potatoes, instructions to plant onions MAT - copy from a model/word mat/independent writing Top group - use a word mat to find the correct bossy verb. Fill in the gap. Draw pictures to illustrate each step. Middle group - cut out each step and stuck them in order. Draw pictures to illustrate each step. Bottom group - I took photos of each activity and they cut them out and glued them in order. A member of staff wrote what they said about each picture.

Daily routine - Early Years 3 differentiated worksheets - I’ve attached both a PDF and an editable version. Higher ability - draw what happens throughout the day (morning, afternoon, evening & night) Middle ability - cut and stick pictures Lower ability - draw a line to match events to the time of day that they take place.

Spider Web Phonics Group activity / game. Each child needs a board and a spider. Start with the spider in the middle of the board. An adult will need to shout out a letter. Children take it in turns to choose 5 instructions. They put sequence them and then tell their partner how to get to a treasure box/x marks the spot. Reception Our topic was minibeasts. This pack includes The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Story Writing Template Top group - wrote independently. Middle group - copied from a model. Lower group - over wrote my writing (yellow felt pen). Enhanced Provision Activities include: Finger painting the body of the Very Hungry Caterpillar Measuring how high the bug jumps with non-standard units - cubes, counters etc. Measuring the minibeast using non-standard units - cubes, counters etc.

Early Years Maths Numeracy Provision Cut and laminate the patterns in strips. Provide plastic / real coins for children to make repeating patterns in the maths area. Challenge children to make their own patterns.

2D Shape Scarecrow Early Years Maths / Numeracy I usually do this task in Autumn Term as part of our topic ‘Harvest’. Children need to cut out 2D shapes. Glue 2D shapes to make a scarecrow. Then children need to colour in a block diagram to show which / how many shapes they have used. I’ve included the Word document (editable) and a PDF copy.

Fill in the missing numbers differentiated 0-5 5-10 10 - 15 15 - 20 I printed these out, laminated them in strips. The children write the missing number with a whiteboard pen, lower ability children place a number magnet in the correct place.

Year 1 - Theme of Superheroes. Read the story Supertato. DT project - design and make a Supertato. We used the TASC wheel to structure the project. Letter from the Evil Pea - I left ‘bad messages’ from the Evil Pea around the school. Whoever read these messages turned bad. My TAs were mixing up all of the toys, and sitting on the tables. The children were in shock at first! Then, someone decided to make posters that had good messages on them to turn everyone back good. We focused on what ‘good’ and ‘bad’ meant.

I cut out these questions and put them in a foam dice. We threw the dice and took turns asking and answering the questions. We do slot drilio every day for 10-15 minutes.

My reception class discussed rules and what was ‘fair’ and ‘not fair’ / ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. We cut out the sentences and matched them to either ‘right’ or ‘wrong’. We discussed each one first and re-wrote them to be fair.
