KS2 KS3 French MFL Food Topic - Les Legumes - Vegetables- 2 activities, PPT & classroom display!

(0)
Ideally suited to KS2 or KS3 French lessons, though would be equally good for KS4 lower abilities. This resource introduces French names of nine common vegetables in a PowerPoint show. As always, masculine and feminine nouns are colour coded throughout the resource. The PowerPoint would be equally useful for classroom display. You could even print on A5 and laminate for a keyword wall or print four to a page for flash cards. Alongside the PowerPoint is a match-up activity. Print this onto card and laminate for longevity or print on paper and get students to glue the matches into their exercise books. As an additional bonus activity, there's also a 'dominoes' game and instructions included. Printing and laminating this means it can be used over and over. You could even use this in a separate lesson with the same group to reinforce the translations they have been introduced to in the earlier match-up activity. Enjoy.

Databases Microsoft Access Unit of Work for Computing or ICT Student Booklet & Lesson Outlines

(0)
A short unit of work that gets students to collect data for a car database, create two databases, make a questionnaire and carry out queries. This is best suited to years 5 - 8 but might suit lower ability KS4 students too. There are six lesson outlines - not full lessons, just a brief outline of what needs to be done in each lesson; this is reflected in the low price for this resource. Teachers do need to compliment this scheme of work with additional resources, though the student book and lesson outlines provided act as a cheap and cheerful guide to a full unit of work! The eight page student booklet also includes an assessment page for students to shade in using pencil/crayons. Enjoy.

Business Ownership Puzzle, Review & Worksheet

This resource depends on you teaching Business Ownership first (sole traders, partnerships and companies). Students should be given a printed version of the puzzle (the one with two pages). I get them to work in pairs as they can both be cutting at the same time to reduce ‘cutting time’. They both cut out one of the pages then get to work creating a triangle solution by connecting matching statements. There is only ONE way the puzzle will become a triangle correctly, so it’s trial and error but a GREAT task to consolidate learning of Business Ownership topic. I then get learners to stick their puzzles down on A3 paper (two sheets, because it just sticks over one A3 page). Alternatively, you could cut the puzzle and laminate for year on year use. I’ve included the solution. To ensure ALL students can access it, I print the solution on A3 paper and stick it in the corridor. Each pair gets a few chances to go out and take a peek, if needed. Finally, I’ve included a plenary to review the tarsia puzzle and a homework true or false activity on Business Ownership, this might work well as a homework task to see what students have learnt from the puzzle. Enjoy!

What's the Question - Engaging and Adaptable MATHS starter! ANY AGE!

This 10 slide PowerPoint is a range of SIMILAR starter or plenary activities. See the video preview below. Can be used OVER and OVER again, so well worth the dollar. The first slides are grids with ANSWERS. Your students need to give the QUESTIONS. Great for questioning, great for differentiation/selecting specific students to answer. There's a version of the same starter which involves splitting your group into two teams to make the activity even more engaging. The slides are fully interactive to allow you to change the numbers RED or BLUE depending on which team gets a point. To ensure longevity of the resource, and the ability to use it LOADS of times with the SAME group, the starters have also been adapted to give questions for students to answer, just to shake things up a bit. Enjoy!

Let's learn about... Social Networks. This is a FULLY resourced double lesson and includes a lesson plan to hand to anyone who has to pop in to observe! The lesson includes a progress path to show ideas at the start and at the end of the lesson, so progress can clearly be identified. Students learn what a Social Network is and then discuss the good and bad things of Social Networking sites. Higher ability students can then move to giving advice/solutions to avoid the bad things from being an issue. A short homework task is also included to complete the circle and ensure you don't need to do any planning at all!! This lesson includes EVERYTHING. Download, print and go. No alterations required. Update - I've also added an electronic version of the good/bad points sorting activity, just in case you're in a computer room or want to do it on the board!

Python Programming - Lesson 1 - Print Function and Introduction to Variables FULLY RESOURCED LESSON!

THIS RESOURCE USES PYTHON VERSION 3. There are subtle differences between version 2 and 3, I believe. It's free to download though, so maybe update your systems. This is the first of my new resources on Python Programming. I'm teaching this to low ability year 9, though I know my higher ability year 7 would love it and I've also seen Python used within some primaries. It's suitable for any novice programming teacher. It includes everything to introduce Python's print function and basic variables. The lesson is fully resourced and will last at least a full hour, if not longer. If you're an absolute beginner, this is ideal. Just read it through and print before teaching - that's it! Look out for my other Python programming resources as part of this series. Enjoy.

Serif Movie Plus help sheet - How to create a movie from saved images - FUN End of Term lesson!

A single, well designed help sheet that guides students through the process of creating a movie using images they have saved on their work areas using Serif Movie Plus. This is IDEAL if you've got Serif Movie Plus installed on your network, but don't know quite how to use it! Give students this sheet and get them to work it out independently. I've had some great results from this, students loved it too. Great end of term fun activity if students can choose their own topic of movie. Enoy.
