“Art helps us grow” is the message that this cute cheerful flower wants the world to know as his brushes dipped in all of the colors of the rainbow spin around his sunflower face as he emerges from the earth. Art gives children unlimited potential to solve problems, think creatively and to express their thoughts. I commend all of the wonderful teachers out there that support the arts and see the amazing potential that art has to radiate positivity in the hearts of everyone. Included are a bright vivid colored in version and a black and white version drawn by me, suitable for coloring for the student. Can be used to teach the colors of the rainbow with the 7 paint brushes symbolizing the petals. Can be used to customize name tags and much more for the students. The possibilities are endless. Included with the transparent high resolution 300 DPI PNGS of the color and the black and white version is a PDF with my terms of use. My clip art cannot be used for commercial purposes and profit. It is allowed to be used for educational purposes only.
In the wake of the recent Coronavirus scare, it is urgent to educate children on recognizing the importance of proper hand washing and hygiene techniques to get rid of and prevent the spread of germs. They will do this by constructing and designing 2 opposite characters that symbolize a hand that is properly washed verses unwashed aka the superhero clean hand verses the villain dirty hand therefore encouraging imaginative play through these customized characters of a protagonist verses an antagonist. They will learn to associate the properties of each one with this visual aid that they will remember to identify clean verses dirty hands. They will also be able to define the vocabulary word for the scientific term for germ - pathogen and how they get transferred.

Students will be able to identify and utilize with their fine motor skills 5 out of the 7 elements of art (line, shape, color, texture and form) by constructing their own weaving three-dimensional mug that sits upon a flat surface space of a wall and a table that they will differentiate based on a dual pattern technique. A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.

Students will be able to demonstrate and form their own interpretation of a monster in the views from multiple angles cubism style of Pablo Picasso from their imagination by practicing the art of collage- drawing, cutting, arranging and designing each piece of the monster to complete the puppet for this mixed media project. Pablo Picasso’s birthday was on October 25, 1881 and this project will also be done to celebrate and honor the artist with a fun Halloween theme. The students will sharpen their fine motor skills in this activity that involves sketching and precise cutting with the scissors as well as their ability to arrange the pieces in an order that is pleasing to their eye to complete the portrait. Students will be able to identify the characteristics of the fall season and utilize their fine motor skills by constructing a three-dimensional tree with individualized branches that will be cut and twisted that will stand on a landscape that they will design and construct from their imagination. This activity will focus on building their fine motor skills by testing their hand strength and finesse in order to build the tree. They will also learn about the process of how and why the leaves change colors from the transition of the spring and summer season to the fall season. Lastly, they will write their own observations of what changes occur to the earth during the fall season. A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.
