I believe in Equality for all so started making my own resources. Being Welsh I am used to seeing things in two languages so it feels normal to me and I know that depending on your fluency you either read one, two or both. This booklet supports learning the time. It can be used in classrooms or on a one to one basis. there are excercises inside it for the learner to complete. I had students telling me " I am being treated as though I know nothing but I learnt this in my old school. I just don’t know what your word for it is". After a while my students steamed ahead as they were using their prior learning rather than going back a step and relearning everything, and just putting a new word to it. This equality of language meant mine and other teachers who used this system effectively raised learning and assessment as well as more importantly happy students.

A PowerPoint talking students through how to create an animal storyboard. Complete with template for the story. Good for all learners especially for Low ability or those with English as an additional language. There are examples of types of backgrounds that students can think about, animals they could use including a domestic dog. There are two examples of completed work so that the students can see what they are aiming for. Suitable for Art, Science adaptations or English creative writing. My students loved it. All achieved something no matter the level.

Worksheet starts by informing learners what metals are and their categories. These are supported by example pictures and some of their properties. There is then a box for the learners to draw, write, cut and paste examples of metals they see in everyday life. As an extention you could ask them to categorise them and find out the properties. From there they can say why that metal is suitable for th ejob it is doing.

I created these for my lower ability to allow them to get a positive experience for learning and as they found the words I would ask what each meant. This way you can understand and know what they have learnt verbally even if they cann’t write it down. Can also be used for cover work where learners find the word then write an explanation of it down - good for gifted and talented. Could be used as a starter when introducing the topic or if you have a difficult class that you want to settle quickly.

Uses the car and ramp physics experiment to show step by step how to create a results table. I used it in my classroom as an aide after explaining how to create it. I left it on the board so that slower learners could still complete the task by themselves.
