I am now a retired teacher having taught for over 40 years in the UK at secondary level. I wanted to share my love of Mathematics and teaching by providing a good set of resources which will more than cover all your needs for as many topics as I can and at good value for money. I am trying to cover many topics from foundation level GCSE up to grade 9 at higher level in a way that is interesting and relevant. I hope you like my style !

Graphing Inequalities - 50 Questions + Answers

(0)
This is 2 worksheets on graphing inequalities + a couple of starters that can be used as plenaries too. In total there are around 50 questions asked here - aimed at GCSE higher level, students are expected to be able work out the equation of a line and hence use inequalities to describe the area above or below that line. An excellent worksheet which students usually find a little demanding but interesting. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Solving Quadratic Equations By Factorisation - 78 Questions with answers

(0)
An excellent worksheet covering everything that you may need up to grade 8 on solving factorisable quadratics. The fist 26 questions are already factorised and simply require the final step to achieve the solutions. The second 26 questions need to be factorised first but are limited to the case of a=1. The third 26 questions need to be rearranged or expanded and then rearranged before factorisation. Answers are included and have been checked independently. Please leave feedback - particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Solving a Linear and a Quadratic Equation Simultaneously + Answers

(0)
A very useful worksheet for grade 7+ students. This topic has been in every GCSE paper from all boards since the introduction of the 9 - 1 exam. This PDF consists of 26 questions on solving a pair of simultaneous equations - one linear and one quadratic - resulting in a quadratic equation and hence two points of intersection. All questions have been carefully worked out to give integer answers and none of the resulting quadratics are ‘ugly’. I recently added a second set of questions on where a line crosses a circle - focusing on one, two or zero solutions and their interpretation. Answers are included Please give feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Top - Heavy Fractions and Mixed Numbers - almost 50 questions changing between the two forms. Addition and Subtraction Of Fractions - I grouped these together but there are 12 questions on adding followed by 12 on subtraction followed by 12 mixed and then 25 using mixed numbers !!! - over 60 questions Multiplication of Fractions - 26 questions on multiplication including mixed numbers followed by some worded questions. Identify The Graph - 42 Graphs - With Answers!!!!

Aimed at the higher level GCSE pupl, this is a phenomenal set of graphs in two formats: Students are shown 42 different graphs and have to work out the equation of the graph using roots and intercepts. I have used this Powerpoint for years and students always find it useful. Graphs include: Straight Lines Quadratics Cubics Power curves Square roots Reciprocals Trigonometrical and even one Quartic. You can, of course, rearrange the slides and take some of the more difficult questions out if you wish. It is an excellent exercise or starter. I have included the Powerpoint and the same 42 graphs on a PDF for tutors and revision. These took a tremendous amount of work and are absolutely priceless. Answers are included Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

For students who need a bit of practice plotting quadratics I created a ‘write on’ worksheet, it covers all that you will need up to about grade 5/6. Aimed at GCSE it can be used at Key Stage 3 as well as 4. 5 questions with grids and scaled axes provided so plotting and curve sketching is made as straight forward as possible, followed by a couple of questions to check students accuracy. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

This pdf consists of 13 problems written in context each of the form ab^x or ax^b. Each question is slightly different so that student’s understanding is maximised. I have successfully used these questions for years for teaching, tutoring, and revision and find these twelve to be relevant and thorough. I’m sure there is something here for every Mathematician at ‘A’ level. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

(Grouped) Frequency Tables - 11 questions with answers

(0)
Aimed at KS4 this pdf contains 11 questions on finding the mean, mode and median from grouped frequency tables. I have covered both discrete and continuous data and, for the latter, I would expect the more able students to be able to use linear interpolation to estimate the median - so I have included questions on this, though they can be omitted if not needed. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

This is a basic worksheet covering the introduction to Probability I wished to stress the basic facts that examiners expected candidates to know, such as how many cards in a standard deck? which letters are vowels as well as number properties. So I created this worksheet to cover as many of these ideas as possible. I have found it useful for the introduction of Probability and also some revision at foundation level. ****Answers are included.

This pdf consists of 10 questions on Mean, Mode and Median of discrete with a small range - frequency tables are covered in a seperate worksheet. The first question (with around 20 parts) is simply finding Mean, Mode and Median and I used this with year 7 and also used it to discuss RANGE. The second set of questions I tended to do in Year 8 or 9 but can be used for revision with lower ability groups - these questions explore the pupils understanding of Mean. Ideal for the introduction of Mean, Mode, Median and Range and also useful for a revision worksheet. Answers are included.
