For each Book the revision placemats contain a summary of the Book, in depth analysis of the characters and key themes shown. These are an excellent revision tool which students can use at home or for last minute revision before an exam.

AQA GCSE (9-1) Britain: Health and People - Medieval Medicine Revision Placemats (x5) This resource consists of five revision placemats for the first topic of Britain:Health and People which focuses on Medieval Medicine. The placemats cover the following topics: Who were Medieval doctors? What impact did religion have on Medieval medicine? How good was Medieval surgery? Public health: Towns vs Monasteries Poor public health: The Black Death. These placemats are a great way for independent revision. Students have found these extremely effective in their revision and have praised them highly.

This resource consists of 8 lessons covering the topic of the ‘Transformation of the Cold War’ for the new AQA History GCSE (Topic: Conflict and Tension between East and West, 1945-72). These have been created for the new AQA History GCSE and some lessons will require a textbook to provide some information (I have used the prescribed Walsh textbook). However, these can be easily edited with different page numbers for the tasks. All of the lessons have clear differentiated outcomes and expectations and the lessons are as follows: 1) Why was a wall built to divide Berlin in 1961? 2) Who came out of the Berlin Wall incident best? 3) How did Cuba create a standoff between the USA and the USSR? 4) What were the key events of the Cuban Missile Crisis? 5) Who gained the most from the Cuban Missile Crisis? 6) Why were people opposed to Communist rule on Czechoslovakia in 1968? 7) What were the consequences of the Prague Spring? 8) Why had Cold War tensions eased by 1972?

A selection of lessons on the Aztecs covering a lot of different topics including: Why did people travel to America? What did Cortes see when he went into Tenochtitlan? How important were Aztec warriors? What can we learn about the Aztecs from sources? Aztecs and Chocolate What were the consequences of the Conquistadors? Were Cortes' actions justified? Assessment: create a tourist brochure on the Aztecs All worksheets come with the PowerPoints and there are notes saying which ones are needed on each slide. Lessons are easily differentiated and most tasks are designed to get pupils speaking about the events/topics.

This download consists of all the resources for a Year 10 Careers Day that I have created called 'Year 10 - Futures Day'. Homer’s Odyssey – Book XXIII: Odysseus and Penelope (characters & themes) This resource contains: 1x PowerPoint Presentation 1x Character and Themes Worksheets This lesson encourages the students to examine the key characters & themes in Homer’s Odyssey Book XXIII (Odysseus and Penelope). First students reflect on the key events of the Book by competing against each other to win a prize. Students then examine the theme of reunion by focusing on the characters of Odysseus and Penelope. Finally students examine the character of Odysseus in Book XXIII and question whether or not he is more of a hero by the end of Book XXIII than he was when he landed in Ithaca in Book XIII.

This resource contains 2 lessons on the Prague Springs and the worksheets needed to complete. Lesson 1 uses two sources to force the students to work out why people in Czechoslovakia had developed an Anti-Communist feeling by 1968. The second lesson can be paired up with any textbook and uses Brezhnev's Facebook worksheet for students to write the chronology of events from different interpretations and then look at the consequences of the events.

This is a introduction lesson into the Holocaust. It approaches the Holocaust from a different angle and questions why have the Jews been persecuted across History. The students first look at a picture of the crucifixion and question how that caused persecution and then looks at sources about what actually happened to Jews in medieval England. The final task is to create a diary entry to explain what has happened to the Jews in medieval England. All resources included (information sheet and sources)
