Music Editing and Arranging Unit
This is a fun unit for students to begin to explore the links between technology and music. This unit uses listening, composing, and arranging tasks and comes with grading rubrics for composing and arranging tasks. Students explore a I, V, vi, IV chord progression and apply this knowledge to different popular songs. Based upon what they have learned, students will then attempt to arrange their own piece of music based on this four-chord progression. Depending on how much time you allow for composition and performance tasks, this unit could last from 6 to 12 lessons.
** You will need to have previously downloaded software that will allow for either recording or note-entry and layering effects to make full use of this unit. **
