This lesson helped me to achieve and outstanding for a recent lesson observation. The PowerPoint looks at an empathetic style exam question and then there is a group work activity. The group work activity is set up so that you have a different character at each different work station, with different questions to get students to think and empathise with each character. Once downloaded, it is really simple to follow.

I use this report to eradicate low level disruption within the classroom and to ensure that staff feel supported. The incentive is for learners to achieve a minimum amount of points each lesson - not for a prize, but to save themselves from earning an after school detention. The report works best when targets are set with the classroom teacher and communication home is made.

These worksheets takes students through the process of developing simple sentences in a variety of ways including; adverbial openings, compound sentences, complex sentences, 'ing' openings and fronted clauses.

Following grades from a mock exam, students then wrote a message to themselves (a final promise before their actual exam) and then they 'bottled' it up. We then stuck the paper bottles up around the classroom.

I designed this structure question for the revision of skills needed for the language paper and the revision of Jekyll and Hyde for the Literature exam.
