Students work through a range of student-led activities, such as a card sort, categorising and ranking tasks before developing GCSE skills. In addition to this there are a range of worksheets and activities. Clear step by step instructions included.

An exam skills lesson. Students are introduced to the concepts of interpretations and work through a variety of activities to develop their source analysis skills. They examine two different types of exam style questions and use worksheets to help guide them through the skills needed to produce a level 3 response. The lesson also builds on the knowledge gained from Lesson 9 and the lesson concludes with the students applying this knowledge to complete a 12 mark explain question.

A source based enquiry lesson on the Holocaust. Students analyse a range of sources to help collect information about the conditions and experiences of Holocaust survivors. They use their data to create a diary account using evidence and examples to help explain what life was like in Auschwitz.

A lesson which looks at the changes that took place in the years after the Civil War. Students sort cards in to two categories 'things got better' and 'things got worse'. They then need to categorise these cards (e.g. laws, social changes etc). The cards then need to be ranked so plenty of opportunity for discussion and deeper level thinking. The main task is to respond to the lesson's title. Literacy support (sentence stems, key words are included). Students will have the chance to practice GCSE skills in the write up and there is a slide of additional sources that higher ability students can use to further develop their arguments.

Preparation for a 12 mark explain style question. Students work through a card sort and diamond 9 activity to assess the problems faced by the government before analysing some student responses to an exam question. The lesson concludes with the students completing a 12 mark exam question.

A decision making lesson on Dunkirk. The lesson includes source based activities, card sorts (categorising and prioritising) and a newspaper article for students to write up their judgement (literacy support and newspaper language provided). Students learn about the two failed attempts to colonise Virginia. They analyse the decisions made on each voyage and critics these before creating a guide book for people wanting to undertake a successful voyage to the New World. This sets them to answer the lesson’s question (a 16 mark exam question). There is also a homework activity. As always there are step by step instruction, high-quality differentiated resources and exam support. This lesson concludes the Unit of Work. A 38 page study guide and workbook for Unit 1 of the Early Elizabeth England GCSE course (Queen, government and religion, 1558-69). Easy to follow lesson on terror in Nazi Germany. The video clips are embedded in the presentation but are also attached incase of any issues with these. Students are introduced to the methods of terror used by the nazis and they have to determine which method was most effective. Written ask reviews knowledge and requires class to write a secret message about how the Nazis are using terror and its consequences.
