I created this worksheet/ homework when teaching the unit: Child evacuees during World War 2. This can be used during, or as a follow-up to a lesson about World War 2 era posters. After having a discussion about how important information was shared with the population, and how propaganda was used, the students can use this activity to engage their thinking skills. These sheets show 12 wartime posters with the headings/ slogans blanked. The students are required to study the remaining image and suggest an appropriate title and theme for the poster's message.

I created this resource when I realised that several of my students struggled to infer when reading.
This is an independent activity in my Guided Reading carousel. Some minor input from me on the difference between comprehending and inferring was all the children needed before getting started. I encourage the students to find more ‘infer’ answers than ‘comprehended’ answers.
What I love about this activity is that it has allowed my students to develop their inferential skills when reading worded texts, as well as analysing pictures. The absence of words means it is ideal for numerous reading abilities.
This reading inferential resource contains 25 activities.
This is great as part of a Guided Reading session or carousel of activities, it could also be used as a lesson starter, morning activity or library session activity.
This worksheet fits into Geography units of work about rivers and water. This river Yangtze worksheet allows the student to investigate one of the world's biggest and most important rivers. Use Google Earth or a similar interactive map to trace the river to its source and locate areas of interest such as the Three Gorges Dam, Tibetan Plateau and Shanghai. Excellent activity for a river case study.
For use with National Geographic Kids Atlas. This fun atlas scavenger hunt worksheet can be easily amended for a variety atlases or online research. Students love to race against the clock and compete as individuals or in small teams against each other.
Nice and simple 4-page dot to dots Christmas themed activities. Two differentiated Christmas trees, a reindeer and Christmas stocking.
Ideal quick and easy Christmas festive filler for the students on the build-up to the holidays.
Ideal for students who are studying Aesop's fables or animals in fables (The Dog and the Bone, The Ant and the Grasshopper, the Hare and the Tortoise). Pupils become responsible environmental citizens and improve their Geo-literacy skills at the same time with this Earth Day weekly Diary!
The booklet has been designed to be used by pupils as a part of their Earth Day celebrations. Encourage your pupils to continue the Earth Day activities away from school and take vital messages home. Importantly, this will allow your pupils to take their Earth Day learning home to share with siblings and parents.
Younger pupils: requires the students to draw their daily exercises and, if required, write a few lines to accompany their illustrations.
Older pupils: contains 'I can...' statements for the pupils to work towards, section to write daily experience, section to write how they helped the environment that day, section to list what contributions they made towards the 3Rs.
This diary can also be used as part of your classroom work - afternoon activity, reflection time, informal assessment, as a daily 5-minute filler or a week-long Earth Day homework project
The document currently contains pages for 7 daily entries, however, just print more pages for a bigger diary.
Print the diary '2-sided' on the 'short edge' - or simply print and staple together.

Great fun during Earth Day or Earth Week Activities.
Colourful and differentiated word search activities. Number of words hidden in the puzzles ranges from 8-42! Therefore this resource is suitable for many classes during Earth Day/ Earth Week or when studying Geography/ Environmental Studies, sustainability, pollution, renewable resources.
The first level word search focuses on 8 important words that the students will be introduced to throughout Earth Day celebrations.
The hardest word search sheet would be ideal for KS2 and 3 students who want the challenge of finding 42 words and understanding all the technical vocabulary.
These Earth Day Cut and Color I can... statements are a great resource for using with young students who are learning to become sustainable students.
Simply cut and color the statements after an Earth Week activity and paste onto the I can... poster.
The students take pride in completing an activity and being able to complete the 'I can...' statement. The poster adds a visual/ non-formal assessment element to the learning.
The statements provided include the familiar: I can recycle, I can re-use, I can reduce; the interesting: I can repair, I can rot; the exciting: I can walk or cycle, I can make a compost. In total there are 14 statements and blank templates to make your own.
Also included is an A3-sized poster template for the pupils to attach up to 12 of their statements during the Earth Day/ Earth Week celebrations.
This resource develops the standard '3 Rs' of sustainability by introducing the students to the '6 Rs' and more concepts for looking after 'Mother' Earth.
Christmas I Spy as part of your Christmas week activity/ activities.
Differentiated into 4 sheets to be placed on desks, enlarged to A3 or projected on board. For younger learners, foundation stage, Kindergarden (Kindergarten), elementary, (UK) KS1, KS2, KS3, Middle School, High School and above. Levels are designed to be: simple yet fun for young children; the challenge develops at each new level, introducing the need for more Christmas critical thinking to decipher the verbal clues.
Young learners: Play Christmas I Spy to introduce your young children and students to Christmas vocabulary. Encourages speaking and listening skills.
Children: Can also be played as a Christmas vocabulary test or game – students have set time to list the images they see! Set them a time limit to make the game harder. Play as a Christmas memory game by showing to students for a limited time then have them list as many items as they saw – points for each correct answer.
Older students: Play Christmas I Spy with your older, teenage, KS3, Middle School, High School students in teams or as individuals. The highest-level game sheet contains both high and low frequency words making the Christmas “I Spy something beginning with…” harder to determine and locate as the game continues.
