This National Curriculum KS2 Maths 4-lesson unit of unit reinforces the pupils' understanding of reflection, introduces translation and then combines the two concepts.
Each lesson contains warm-up exercises and resources - everything is ready for print and learning!
The original file is a flip chart, and I have also created a PDF version which is also located in this download.
Do you want to assess your students' understanding of reflection and translation? This reflection and translation assessment was created to directly follow this unit of work:

Peer review is an excellent end of lesson plenary activity for writing lessons.
In my class I have these posters doubled-sided-printed and laminated and readily available around the room as well as featuring on my English display board.
The first two students to have adequately finished their work then peer review each others' by offering a compliment, suggestion and correction. Having completed the activity a couple of times the students really understand what makes constructive feedback (the guidance also helps with this).
A great writing plenary.
I created this resource when I realised that several of my students struggled to infer when reading.
This is an independent activity in my Guided Reading carousel. Some minor input from me on the difference between comprehending and inferring was all the children needed before getting started. I encourage the students to find more ‘infer’ answers than ‘comprehended’ answers.
What I love about this activity is that it has allowed my students to develop their inferential skills when reading worded texts, as well as analysing pictures. The absence of words means it is ideal for numerous reading abilities.
This reading inferential resource contains 25 activities.
This is great as part of a Guided Reading session or carousel of activities, it could also be used as a lesson starter, morning activity or library session activity.
Looking for a manageable way to display your pupils targets?
Display these skills WANTED posters in your classroom so your students can have their learning targets visible at all times.
The PowerPoint file currently has space for a target in: Reading, Writing, Maths and Behaviour for Learning (BfL). These can be easily changed to suit your class needs.
The file also contains blank slips for writing the targets, these can be glued on top of achieved targets so the students can take pride in seeing how many targets they have achieved in the key subjects.
Great fun during Earth Day or Earth Week Activities.

Looking for some green-fingered activities for Earth Day?
This download contains six easy to run gardening activities. Ideal for an Earth Day or Earth Week activity.
Let your pupils get green fingers and become young gardeners during your Earth Day celebrations.
Mini themes can include: learning about the growth of seeds, the role insects play in our environment and farming, and how household materials can be re-used in the garden.
My young gardener's club, who were 5-6 years old, loved these activities. Older students will also appreciate the opportunity to get their hands dirty and seek out bugs on the school grounds.

What do you want to achieve from Earth Day?
When starting a new area of learning or project I find that it is a great idea to have the class set themselves personal and individual targets.
This file contains two sheets. The first contains the sub-headings for the days of the week, the second is blank for the student to add their own entries.
Start the fun on Earth Day/ Week by having your pupils make a pledge.
This Earth Day activity allows your pupils to take ownership of their targets for the week and become responsible global citizens.
This colorful and exciting pledge can be used as a place mat or displayed on the wall during Earth Week.
Two variants include Earth Day and Earth Week for whichever event you are celebrating this year.
These Earth Day Cut and Color I can... statements are a great resource for using with young students who are learning to become sustainable students.
Simply cut and color the statements after an Earth Week activity and paste onto the I can... poster.
The students take pride in completing an activity and being able to complete the 'I can...' statement. The poster adds a visual/ non-formal assessment element to the learning.
The statements provided include the familiar: I can recycle, I can re-use, I can reduce; the interesting: I can repair, I can rot; the exciting: I can walk or cycle, I can make a compost. In total there are 14 statements and blank templates to make your own.
Also included is an A3-sized poster template for the pupils to attach up to 12 of their statements during the Earth Day/ Earth Week celebrations.
This resource develops the standard '3 Rs' of sustainability by introducing the students to the '6 Rs' and more concepts for looking after 'Mother' Earth.
Two differentiated versions - younger and older Pupils.
Pupils become responsible environmental citizens and improve their Geo-literacy skills at the same time with this Earth Day weekly Diary!
The booklet has been designed to be used by pupils as a part of their Earth Day celebrations. Encourage your pupils to continue the Earth Day activities away from school and take vital messages home. Importantly, this will allow your pupils to take their Earth Day learning home to share with siblings and parents.
Younger pupils: requires the students to draw their daily exercises and, if required, write a few lines to accompany their illustrations.
Older pupils: contains 'I can...' statements for the pupils to work towards, section to write daily experience, section to write how they helped the environment that day, section to list what contributions they made towards the 3Rs.
This diary can also be used as part of your classroom work - afternoon activity, reflection time, informal assessment, as a daily 5-minute filler or a week-long Earth Day homework project
The document currently contains pages for 7 daily entries, however, just print more pages for a bigger diary.
Print the diary '2-sided' on the 'short edge' - or simply print and staple together.
