A speaking frame to help pupils develop a short presentation on their Euro 2016 match predictions using the near future. Each step is clear and pupils should be encouraged to extend their answers. YouTube clip to a "Come Dine with Me" French equivalent. Lots of great vocab,. This leads on to a reading activity whereby pupils match up vocabulary which they can use and adapt to write about their ideal school canteen setup.

The third worksheet pupils read an authentic article and find several phrases demonstrating understanding of the text.
The pupils can use the PPT file to act as a prompt to either speak or write about their reactions to the American presidential elections. The work sheets will also assist pupils to write or speak independently.
Ideal resources to consolidate understanding of forming the past tense using avoir and etre. Pupils translate several sentences using jumbled pronouns, auxiliary verbs and past participles. Thee are two copies of the worksheet on an A4 sheets. There is a supporting teacher presentation to go through the solution. Easy to use and guide pupils towards the key rules. There are five excellent resources included to teach the imperfect tense using three skills; reading, writing and listening.
The teacher PPT uses a visual step by step guide to the imperfect tense formation. The PPT also goes through irregular formations and when to use the imperfect tense. There is a crossword for a mini-progress check using 3 regular verbs; one for each verb group and also the verb “être”. There are 10 clues to solve. A worksheet is included for this.
There is a short passage for pupils to identify the imperfect tense in context. This would be great to use as a modelled example for pupils to reproduce a text of what their life was like when they were younger.
There is a translation exercise checking understanding of the different contexts of the imperfect tense.
There is then an exercise where the pupils decide whether the sentences are in the perfect or imperfect tense.
There is also a writing exercise where pupils build knowledge of 15 time markers associated with the imperfect tense. A worksheet is included for this.
There is a reading gap fill exercise where pupils conjugate the verb into the correct form of the imperfect tense. A worksheet is included for this.
The next exercise is a listening gap-fill from a YouTube clip of Aladdin. Pupils listen to part of the fairy tale and fill in the correct verb. A worksheet is included for this.
The final exercise is a creative writing exercise - pupils have a choice of 3 titles
As a plenary pupils refer to their learning journey completing a 3-2-1 block review.
Pupils use a vocabulary frame to write a weather report using appropriate time markers and a variety of tenses. This is great for practising high frequency verbs in the present, past and future tense.
Also included is a worksheet with a translation exercise and a crossword puzzle. Again this enables pupils to demonstrate understanding of three tenses.
This would be an excellent end to the year for you and your class. This can be completed as a standalone lesson or worked through gradually in the build up to Christmas.

The reading comprehension is taken from an authentic web article on what Christmas activities there are for children in Paris. The first task has 12 comprehension questions where pupils demonstrate understanding of the text. The second tasks builds on their vocabulary knowledge with 22 phrases to find.
This is ideal for classwork, homework or cover work. Resources are easy to print.
Included in this presentation is a Christmas star linked to 7 different activities in the past tense. The presentation reinforces the past tense with "avoir" using different verb forms.
A further presentation is attached of a Christmas star linked to 7 different activities in the "future proche". This is great to revise the future tense in different verb forms.
Also included is a reading activity describing the 8 reindeers which revises descriptions us using adjectives and superlatives
There is a short starter activity about what you want for Christmas. Pupils then use the model to either talk or write about what they want for Christmas.
