A key aspect students struggle with is how to annotate their sketchbook pages, whether it is an artist image or their own work. What we have found useful is giving students sentence starters and key words.
Have a look at these worksheets we have made which we laminate back to back and use across all year groups.
Thank you
Hi everyone
In this powerpoint I have broken down in easy straightforward student and teacher friendly language on how students can analyse and create Photographer analysis using VISUAL and ANALYTICAL language.
Assessment Objective 1:
Develop ideas, Analyse, respond and demonstrate critical understanding:
There are 14 slides, it has student examples of draft 1 and draft 2 artist analyis with teacher feedback. It also has a help sheet which splits up the analysis using this 4 part model:
Context: about the artist
Media: Produce a study and write about it
Style: What is the work about
Intentions: What do you want to develop
I hope that you find this powerpoint visually inspiring and useful in encouraging your students to create confident and exceptional artist pages
Thank you
This is a really fun set of examples used with year 10 GCSE students on the theme of FOOD. This Powerpoint introduces them to Expressive and realism artists. Each lesson is broken down and the artist images are given.
Artists used are Robert Joyner and Sarah Graham
This set of work will last 2- 3 weeks and students can also produce an artist analysis page after the workshops.
It has printable images/templates for students.
The students absolutley loved this workshop and I enjoyed teaching it too.
Hi
These resources can be used as a help sheet as students have the choice to draw onto the worksheet or into their sketchbooks.
There are 6 different drawing options to choose to draw from, all based on the theme “Around the Home”
1: Someone seated/sat down
2: My bedroom
3: One point perspective step by step guide to draw “My bedroom”
4: A chair in a quiet area
5: My kitchen
6: Stairways
Their are lots of examples of students work for references and students can choose to draw from these images.
Ideally suitable for students aged 11 upwards
This is perfect as a skills based lesson/activity to help students practice their drawing and tonal skills. Even more perfect for students to complete whilst at home.
Only media needed is a pencil, possibly a ruler
