How to annotate your sketchbook pages

A key aspect students struggle with is how to annotate their sketchbook pages, whether it is an artist image or their own work. What we have found useful is giving students sentence starters and key words. Have a look at these worksheets we have made which we laminate back to back and use across all year groups. Thank you

I have created this step by step powerpoint which breaks down this task into very simple steps, but i can promise you your students will achieve fantastic outcomes. There are 2 options in this presentation, the first is to create a realistic pencil drawing and the second is a colour pencil study This is perfect for home learning It is a full presentation with clear instructions and lots of good images to draw from and exceptional student examples as a reference for inspiration. It can take 2-4 hours, and can be adjusted to suit your students. Hope you find it useful
