Risk, dares and online challenges PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss the concept of risk and risk-taking. We will look at how a small element of risk applies to most everyday activities. We will discuss the steps that people commonly take to lower these everyday risks such as wearing a helmet when cycling, or carefully reading the instructions when taking prescribed medicines. We will then take a closer look at dares and online challenges. We will discuss the risks and dangers involved in a series of examples, and discuss strategies for resisting peer pressure.
The lesson includes a set of discussion cards, an information sheet, a video clip activity, and clear, measurable learning outcomes.

NEW PSHE lesson all about what communities are, why they are beneficial to us, how our mental health improves when we become involved in off-line communities and how our mental health suffers when we lose contact with our off-line communities.
Students will investigate different types of communities, how they develop, how they overlap and how they can lend support in time of need. They will also examine the phenomenon of the hikikomoris of Japan, individuals who choose to actively cut themselves off from all off-line communities, and explore the impact this has on their mental health.
This has been written to cover the 2020-24 PSHE guidance on the importance of communities. The lesson will last you at least one hour and is best suited to upper KS3 or KS4.
There are a variety of tasks, from creative to literacy, to clip and analysis. Everything is editable and ready to go.
This lesson is taken from the new EC Publishing 2024 Complete Secondary Package which can be found at the EC Publishing website.

Protected Characteristics and the Equality Act
Primary PSHE lesson created for Upper KS2 - Specifically Year 6, although it may also suit lower KS3 students in Year 7.
In this lesson, students will delve into the concept of fairness and examine the differences between equity and equality. We will revisit the term discrimination, then expand on prior knowledge by exploring real-life examples of both direct and indirect discrimination. The class will discuss which groups in our society might require additional support to ensure they have the same opportunities as everyone else. This will naturally lead to an exploration of the Equality Act and its protected characteristics, highlighting how the law helps level the playing field for those most vulnerable to discrimination.
The lesson includes a starter activity, a video task with reflection questions, a creative poster design activity, and a reflective plenary. The lesson is fully resourced and ready to use, but also editable for customisation. This session is best suited to students in Upper Key Stage 2 (specifically Year 6), as it builds on earlier lessons on prejudice and discrimination introduced in Year 4.

This detailed 23 page PSHE / RSE workbook has been created for the new PSHE / RSE and Health 2020 Statutory Guidance and focuses on drugs, their effects, UK law, addiction and harm reduction. It contains all of the information needed to learn about the topic in the first few pages, then the rest of the booklet is full of activities to complete.
The booklet is differentiated and great for recording progress in PSHE. It’s easy to print and editable (as it comes in a portrait-version ready to print PowerPoint as well as a PDF version) - so you can always amend it for your students. This could be left as cover (as appropriate to the class and cover teacher) as there’s nothing explicit on the relationships side of things and all of the terminology is carefully explained. No internet access needed.
Also included:
Signposting for further help and advice
Progress checkers
Whole School literacy activities
Creative activities
Editable, optional assessment pack (with an example of how to fill it in, as shown as a healthy lives assessment)
