I am an experienced English teacher of both Literature and Language, and also Classical Studies at High School level. You will find text-based resources for novels, poetry, plays and film study in my shop for Years 7 - 13. The resources are generic to the text so are suitable for any curriculum. I am also a passionate believer in effective literacy learning hence the emphasis on phonics resources in my shop.

The Odyssey Bingo Activity

50 cards of various characters and symbols in Homer’s Odyssey. You can also print these and use for classroom display purposes too. 5 scorecards featuring characters and symbols from the card pack. Scorecards are varied and pictures placed at random. A fun group revision activity for students. A student shuffles, selects a card and calls out the name on the card. Students then have to mark off or place a counter over the picture (if they have it) on their scorecard. The first group to mark off at least two full columns or rows wins. (This can be adjusted to suit.) As an extension activity students then complete the theme worksheet for each character / symbol in one of the rows they have marked off. Example is included on the first sheet of the PDF file.
