Please find attached two PowerPoint presentation covering mechanisms in organic chemistry. The first covers: Nucleophilic Substitution Elimination Electrophilic Addition Free Radical Substitution Nucleophilic Addition Electrophilic Substitution The second provides a summary of the above in slightly more detail but also includes exam style questions covering the content to give the students a chance to apply what they have learned. Additionally I’ve also attached a cheat sheet the students may find useful with more reactions and info on the conditions & catalysts. Brilliant game based on classic who wants to be a millionaire. Has realistic sound effects, & I recommend using as 50/50, ask the audience and phone a friend to make it more fun & interactive . Adapted for students studying Key Stage three science (Physics). Multiple choice. The questions get more challenging as the students near the one million pound question. I’ve also included a couple of screenshots to give you a feel of how it is in action. Makes a great supply lesson, whole lesson, levelled task or whole class activity. A fun, active and differentiated way of revising and Key Stage 3 Biology. The board game was created to enable students to actively revise all topics that appear in Key Stage 3 Biology including; the microscope, life processes and cells, plant organs, nutrition, digestion, health, respiration, photosynthesis, fertilisation, variation, classification, adaptations and more. This game includes differentiated questions that have been separated into easy, medium and hard. The hard questions are the more rewarding but as easy ones are included it allows all students to access challenge. I recommend printing it out on A3 and laminating the questions. This game pack includes two snakes and ladders games. One focuses on multiplication, focusing on times tables up to 12. The other focuses on dividing numbers under 100 that give integers (none of the answers yield remainders/decimals). I’ve played this game with some of my tutees who are primary aged, and some secondary school students who struggle with these topics and it always seems to bring out their enthusiasm and competitive spirit. I’ve also included a blank snakes and ladders board for those who may want to modify it & increase/decrease the difficulty. It can also be modified to an addition / subtraction game & if your students feel like a challenge, why not put problems from all four areas within.
