A game to play with students all you need is a die. It will test students maths skills and throw in a bit of luck.
You have £5000 to spend on sustainable energy developments. Cost are in the headings in the table. You must spend all the £5000.
Each day will start with a roll of the dice.
What ever the number lands on determines the days energy.
Profitable = times the profit amount by how many of the energy type you have
Broken and Damaged = two options every blank out the type for how ever many days or fix them straight away.
The winner will be the person that earns the most money at the end of the game.
See the example in the table below. The total for day 1 would be:
Profit = 30 + 20 = £50
Broken = -£150
Total = -£100
Chance to buy more if needed every 7 days and add up totals
Extra weeks can be printed from page 3
Calculating current, potential difference and resistance of series and parallel circuits
document contains an MS form quiz that you can duplicate and use
Lots of practice of the energy calculations from AQA past papers
I have also added the answers to my youtube channel please visit mastering physics @thephysicsnewt
a powerpoint with pictures (no words) from the P1 spec to be used as a revision exercise.
Students could have a mini white board and jot down ideas from they think the picture shows.
Let me know how you use it - @TJohns85
