I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Adding and Subtracting Fractions

(30)
A sheet where students can pick the section on which they need more work (self-differentiated no less). Ranges from plain old fractions, through functional plain old fractions, through mixed numbers through functional mixed numbers. No bells, whistles, anything like that, just a load of questions. I have added a 'Prove It' sheet so that the class can show you what they can now do.

Ice Cream issues again for Lark Ices and Stannister Dairy who have some dodgy software that keeps going wrong, hence the need for them to estimate and round. Goes from simple rounding, through estimating calculations to upper and lower bounds.

Game of Cones - Season 1 - Fractions

I've been itching to do a maths 'Games of Thrones' thing for a while and then this popped into my head. Fraction of a number, comparing fractions and adding and subtracting all in the name of an ice cream war!

Game of Cones - Season 3 - Time

(6)
A fairly simple set of questions which convert between 12 and 24 hour time, time calculations, timetables and a simple speed/distance/time problem. I'm now struggling a little for ice/cold puns!

QR Code Defuse The Bomb - Number

(1)
The infamous terrorist 'The Mathematician' has planted more bombs. Answer the problems, pick the right answer then scan the QR code associated with that answer. The song or artist that appears contains a number which is part of the code required to defuse the bomb. Riddled with 80s classics! Enjoy!

Defuse The Bomb - Substitution

(6)
The usual ‘answer the questions and defuse the bomb’ story, this time involving substitution. Two worksheets, the second one being more difficult than the first.

Bang and Wallop Speakers - Volume

(1)
How much space is inside each type of speaker made by Bang and Wallop? The technicians need to know so that they can fit all the electronics in. The first two sheets are foundation/KS3 shapes, the third sheet (Top of the Range) is the higher stuff.

Barbie and Ken's Rearranging Formulae

(13)
Help rearrange Barbie and Ken’s ornamental algebra around their penthouse. I&'d like to thank the person who was brave enough to give me one star but not brave enough to tell me why so that I can try to rectify it.
